back on topic: I played the DDR X beta at jersey gardens 2 weeks ago. I unlocked Akira Ishihara's remix of saber wing alongside the original on the extra stage. I played it and the game crashed. O.o Apparently, the song is not supposed to be on the machine yet, and when it appears and someone plays it, the game doesn't recognize it and crashes. Wierd.

You do know that certain boss songs can't co-exist with each other unless one of them is unlocked, right? If On the Bounce, Saber Wing, and Horatio are all part of the Final, Extra, and Encore, it's impossible for another boss song to exist at the time as well.
Plus, it's a beta version. It's impossible for the song to exist in that build, period. Unless you have photo proof of this, it's hard to believe.

The only extra stage on the beta was On the Break.
Is the machine at jersey gardens an early release of the final version or something?

Beta version. We don't even have nonstop courses there because I believe when they had SN2 there, most of the songlist was revealed through there.
Therefore foiling Konami for quite some time about what songs were gonna be available in that game.
Now, they grew wise of it and just stopped adding Nonstop courses to the beta.

By the way, does anyone know how many DDR titles (SN,SN2,X) titles have been sold in the US, EU, and Japan? (looks at pie)

Two of these are very easy. DDR X sales in the EU: none. Haha. SN2 looks to be negligible (six at last count).
Hum, games doesn't like Europe. We are always the last to have any game.
For SN2 PS2, this came out in Europe almost 1 YEAR after USA. And we don't have DDR X PS2 for now, i think we have to wait a long time, again.
I think some of the players can't wait and buy a japan/us game instead.
Me, i'm waiting so hard the Arcade EU release. I'm scared that this never comes (like SN2). And if it comes, i'm scared that it comes with less songs/stuff and all :s
I have done, at least, 3 times each songs on SuperNOVA, even the really shitty ones.
I really need this release or i will die >.< I hope that konami don't srew up with europe this time...

I think you're over reacting just a bit over a silly video game
I think that the crossovers from Hottest Party have more to do with the fact that Hottest Party games are done in Japan as well as the mainstream DDR games, where as the Ultramix games are done by a separate team, so it's much easier to cross over console based songs. Plus, it does seem more fitting to move the mainstream DDR games to the Wii with it being the "get fit" system of choice. Plus, if they move Wii based songs over to an arcade game, casual players of the Wii games will recognize a few of the songs they were used to playing and may be more willing to visit the arcade. I think it's all about generating a larger fan base and thus, more game sales, both CS and AC.

There was a legal reason behind the non-release of SN2 - the RoHS (EU directive: "Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment 2002/95/EC") took effect on 1st July, 2006, and the Fat PS2 inside SuperNOVA/SuperNOVA 2 is not compliant. SuperNOVA came out in April '06, and so wasn't affected.
Of course, this directive came into law back in 2001, so it was a bit silly of Konami not to foresee it and make some kind of alternative arrangement (like develop SuperNOVA 2 on BemaniPC!).

I wouldn't really mind if they moved the mainstream DDR games to the Wii, only thing that i would need IS a Wii

...what if when they release the US DDR X AC, they release not just HP/HP2 songs, but also Ultramix/Universe songs? (In green lettering for it's correspondent color and stuff plus keep in mind they are "trying" to make this game the best anniversary DDR game sooo...who knows?). Just a thought >_>

That would be nice if Ultramix/Universe songs go to AC cause some Bemani Songs on there is actually good and also other songs on there is nice to like
Colors Midihead's Sapphire Mix by dj TAKA off of Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 3
and that one song Delta Max i think off of the Universe games

Although i would highly doubt it unless they sell the games in Japan as well and stuff...

This.
I can't imagine Doki Doki (Panik Mix) not being part of the "mainstream" song collection.

Well about DeltaMAX might be going to AC not really sure
I talked to DMAshura asked him why his songs arent on the PS2 vers or AC of DDR
he said because the Xbox vers of DDR is by the US group
He's trying to contact the japanese group of DDR to see if his song can be on PS2 and AC
yay
They dont have to sell the games they can do what they did in Sn or SN2 not sure
Aj

oh wow, I never knew that, thanks Chi :]
was this actually publicly announced by konami? this would have eased some of the anger about SN2 not coming out in Europe.

Releasing a PS2 game and a PS3 game close together would be a bad idea. Look what happened with Ultramix 4 and Universe: The spotlight was on Universe and Ultramix 4 was ignored (there's not even an Unleashed 4!). There's no denying, though, that the PS2 is dying out, so they ought to hurry up and move on to the next console, be it PS3 or even Wii. Wii would make a lot of sense if they're crossing some of the songs over to AC.
As for Ultramix/Universe songs, I would also love to see them on AC, but we saw them on Festival, Str!ke, and a few UM3 songs on SN, but after that, nothing. The Japan team hasn't been all that interested in that series, which is really quite a shame.

They broke during the production of the two games if memory serves me right, which explains the glitches and bugs in Universe1.

I'd like the following in a DDR AC game (all from the American games):doki doki would probably be the best though.
777
100sec Kitchen Battle!!
Doki Doki (Panik Mix)
I Wanna Be Your Star (Speedy Mix)
Space Space Shooter (Cusimo & Co. Remix)
Do You Want To
Take Me Out
Love Is On Our Side
Don't Play Nice
Brightness Darkness
Gutterpunk
Desire (Comet Remix)
all the KO's from Ultramix 2 & 4 (except Senses and its remix)
...but that is all wishful thinking.

I wouldn't mind another game on the PS2 for one more year, but if the 'main' series had to move to one console, I'd like it to be the Wii, though I think it'll likely be on the PS3.$271 or $434 just to continue my DDR fix at home

Oddly enough, I wouldn't mind Senses. There hasn't been any new old style 5s for a while on AC (Seriously, it's a 5. And it probably would be rerated that way anyway). Its remix can go to hell, though.
