Dancing Stage SuperNOVA2 (PS2) (Europe)

Wait, let me get this straight. The courses in the Dancing Stage games don't have actual names? Just "Level 1 *" "Level 2 **" and so on?

Yah. Unfortunately -_-... I think every EU version DDR that has course option only have these generic banners....

Also, both Challenge and Non-Stop courses are identical in SN series...

Yeah, it sucks. It's like they didn't bother at all. Oh wait, they actually didn't. For DDRX EU, if we get treated like this again, they might as well not bother.

I never really played DS except DS MAX which I finished with all missions cleared.
The next Dancing Stage I had in my hands was DS SN which I bought but sold few days later because it was really bad.
Dancing Stage Supernova 2. The first time I saw it everything seemed normal except information missing. I checked the songlist, nothing really hooked me. goldfrapp is a famous name, but the songs? eh, not really meant for dancing. gwen stefani??? -_- (Hopefully Eternius and Baby's Tears was kept there)

Quite some SySF songs, like electrified and some others. these are ok, I just don't understand why these songs are on EU version of DS SN2 as I did not notice any of these songs in DDR SN2.
After checking more licensed songs which ranged from bad to really bad I went to Hyper Master Mode.

I played all the boss missions I could till I got to play FELM. If I remember correctly this mission was played on 1,5x reverse and I'm not sure about the difficulty.....so well I ended up playing just well FELM on light. Got it, bought it and tried to pass it on a bundled softpad. (passed it with C on that crap softpad and lagging screen). it continued...remember the mission played on standard 1x with really weird noteskin? it was quite difficult for me to read 1. noteskin was quite confusing, and the 8th note patterns made me miss sometimes.... In DS SN2 ..... light! and some ok noteskin. The boss fake double mission I completely killed myself in SN2 JP IS NOT EVEN THERE. Ok well ....all the missions were like....for beginners or something. It wasn't a copy of DDR SN2 US nor DDR SN2 JP. it was just ....we will make it easier version.

Also unlocking Level whatever number courses wasn't really fun. So I wondered what advanced modes will be there in the game but I lost my nerves ....played FELM few more times and waited for KONAMI to announce the release date....just to find out 2 months later at games convention that the game is 90% complete o_O o_O and TBA September.....ZOMG.

so I gave up waiting for it. is out already?

EDIT: and I forgot.....the lady on the box art is all red and she's standing on something dark red, but behind her you can see swirls of pink and bright red o_O o_O o_O I always though DS SN2 will be more like ...... light blue cover? after playing the new Universe with it's BRIGHT PINK a la empress backgrounds and light green a la troopers.....nothing will surprise me I guess.

Is it okay if I start acting like a little kid and throw a tantrum here for the simfile of the only new song on DS SN2?

Truth be told, I wouldn't do it either way. I just want some lulz as I overhaul it with artificial difficulty just for the hell of it but I suppose that's what I have television for.

Once the simfiles done I'll cut the music video and add it in so we actually have a better version in Stepmania than the official game.

In fact, it would require more work that KOE did to put out DS SN2 but I doubt it will take a year... I hope.

Once I know the audio cut the video should take me 10 minutes tops. The lyrics maybe 15 minutes or so?

Also weren't there two versions of What Is Love in one of the UltraMIX's? I used to have two in one of my simfile folders once I think.

One of them was the original SP1 steps, and the other is the superior DDR Festival Steps...and just about all SP songs have better steps in Festival (yet they didn't bother to change double...only a few of those songs that were put in SN AC got updated...)

Because that's what Konami want you to think. Like me with Canned Heat. And then, three years of complaining later, it comes out on the NA version of a DDR.

well, I wasn't really speaking about the steps more of a song I would choose to play. It's a IIDX song I know and I prefer playing a song I've already heard somewhere instead of songs that don't tell me anything or sound like pop and really old 80s songs that I don't really like (and I mostly like 80s to listen to, but not play them in DDR).

sorry guys^_~ you know what you are speaking about as you actually know the EU/US releases. I don't. My opinion on songs from EU/US versions except what was on DDRMAXUS is highly subjective as I did not have enough time and possibilities to try everything out and make my own opinion about it. I'm sure I would later find songs and charts I would actually like.

If it counts for anything, What is Love? is on beatmania and pop'n music. As for DDR, not even the Festival steps are that good.

A song you've already heard? Don't you get tired of listening to the same songs over and over? Just go ahead and try something new. Sure, it will sound weird based on the short preview, but if you give it a chance, it could become your new favorite. Then, you'd probably get tired of THOSE as well. That's where you have to throw a wrench in the cycle by limiting your exposure to the songs you love, but not ignoring them as if you don't care. My favorite song hasn't changed in a long time because I don't try to play so many songs every day like in my DDR heyday.
