I have a feeling this might be the end of DDR but of course, that's just my theory...
Yeeeaaaahhhhh no. They put in a LOT of money to have this game alone be supported in Japan, South Korea, United States, and soon enough the Philippines. If they wanted to can the game they would have done it midway during the game's cycle. And the fact that they flew 3 US players to Japan to compete, along with KAC's first US Champion on a BEMANI game basically gave them a lot more publicity than ever. As well as the countless DDR Ace tournaments popping up across the country (as well as others that are springing up).

NEXT VERSION will be the last is probably what you meant, because I think so too :v Not really, DDR Ace pretty much revived the scene in both the West and possibly East.

DDR A is 16 months old. How long is the gap between the release of two DDR games?

While the gap between 2013 and 2014 was about a year and 2 months, the gap between 2014 and A was about a year and 10 months. I cant imagine this event lasting more than 3 months or so, then soon after an announcement for the next installment. This is just speculation mind you, but best case, Id imagine a Q4 2017 or Q1 2018 release is reasonable.

Right now trying to kill some time, i've been seeing all the people who are credited in ACE FOR ACES and some of them are very interesting:

Akina (She wrote the lyrics of Come to Life)
ARM (IOSYS)
dj TAKA
DJ TOTTO
HuΣeR
L.E.D.
Nicole Curry
PON
Qrispy Joybox
RabbiTon Strings
Sota Fujimori
SYUNN
TAG
TOMOSUKE
劇団レコード
ここなつ
ジュクチョー (COOL&CREATE) (?)
日向美ビタースイーツ♪
猫叉Master
肥塚良彦
柊木りお

Some of them are very obvious but:
- RabbiTon Strings is actually an artist and not only an alias of some known Bemani dude. Cool
- My guess is: ジュクチョー and 肥塚良彦 are involved in ENDYMION in some way

OJ might've provided the guitars to ENDYMION, and I think Cool and Create might've done some arrangement or the composition?

Without 96 anymore, I'm certain Koezuka was involved in guitars on one (if not more) of the songs in DDR A.

"I'm really, really bad at DDR."
So... this raises the obvious question:

After ACE FOR ACES... then what? Is that it? Is Konami not going to make any new event for DDR A? Any new songs? ACE FOR ACES would seem like a fitting end to the game...

This can also mean that after this event is over, or sometime soon, we can expect an OST for DDR A to be announced.

I'm actually quite excited for the next instalment of DDR. 20th anniversary of DDR will be in 2018 and hopefully we'll get something cool but better than X tho
DDR is awesome! (:

ACE FOR ACES is almost certainly the end game song; it very much sounds that way. Maybe one more bonus song after this, but it seems unlikely (seeing how this is both a credits song and a PFC EES). After this, they'd probably announce the next game.

Part of me is really excited for the 20th anniversary of DDR, but another part of me is nervous that they are going to monumentally screw it up; I don't want another DDR X (though I don't find it nearly as bad as people say, it's still not a great mix, and introduction to shock arrows was so bad that their reputation is still being felt to this day).

We might get a wide bonus event (DDR 2014 got a few after RDi....), or maybe "preview" songs before the new installment comes out. Heck, we might not get a song, it'll probably be a append version, until we get that 20th birthday game. Or maybe it'll be a entirely new game that'll last for one year.
""= i put quotation marks, bc they might not be considered actual preview songs. remember the winter osb event in ddr 2014?

No. That date is a reference to Reo Nagumo's birthday. DDR's birthday falls somewhere in September 1998. 😛

As for November 18, that's the day when DDR 1st: Internet Ranking Version was released.

DDR XX would be kind of cool to symbolize that we've had 20 years of DDR, but I feel like they're done using X as a title name after X, X2, and X3. Hopefully they come up with something more creative than just a letter or a year (2013, 2014, A).
