IIRC after you failed Max Period/OTP you only had to play enough sessions to get the medals for the other Replicant-D-ignition songs again. So essentially you could try again once every six plays.

The lead-up to OTP being the final EES was way longer, though.

Also, ENDYMION has 783 steps on Expert, 2nd highest of any Expert chart, only beaten by Elemental Creation (again).

EDIT: He got 2050 points from the first step with Marvelous timing, so ACE FOR ACES has approximately 408 steps + freezes.

I'm thinking the same exact thing; either this or an "append version" of DDR A with a title like "DDR A+" or something...
If a new title does come out, I'm praying it'll be released officially stateside just like A.

Bare in mind that you were allowed 3 misses, and there's no PFC requirement.

That makes things a lot different. When Over The "Period" was moved to Extra Stage (from the Attack PFC), it went from literally months to figure out the Difficult chart to Expert figured out in a week.

EDIT: Also, I will say this: Yes, while it does take 8 sessions to get a single attempt, at least you get to pick the songs this time (unlike in RDI, where you had to do the RDI songs).

Slightly off topic from the entire Ace of Aces discussion but still DDR A related:

I'm heading to the arcade this weekend and since there's no real arcade with DDR A near me I'm never had a chance to really get started on RINON'S ADVENTURE and wanted some recommendations for the best way to grind out the event.

I'm not expecting to finish the entire thing in one day at the arcade because that would be crazy, but I do want to make a dent into this grindfest and get at least a couple songs while I have the opportunity.

I don't think you will be able to. IIRC you have to complete Baby-lon's Adventure to trigger RINON'S. Unless you were able to clear that one, of course.

Same here, I'm heading down to play for a few hours tomorrow morning and I want to get at least a few songs unlocked. I would greatly appreciate some kind of strategy on how to grind for them.

I have already completed Baby-Lon's Adventure so basically I need to know a quick way to get to Extra Stage, whether it be failing 1st stage and whatnot.

I don't think we actually know enough to know for sure if this song could take shorter than OTP to finish just yet, it's just very likely. For all we know, there could be some crazy BPM changes that just make it super hard to time than OTP but not any harder to clear than a 13 or something like that. Doubt it, but it's just a thought.
Has there been any confirmation on the requirements to get the EES yet? It looks to me like you need to AA ENDYMION but I don't think there's even been a video of anything less yet.
"DDR AA." I feel like it's more likely to be just a new mix but who knows.
I'm praying that there will be more cabinets than A since I have to go 6 hours for the nearest one and that's...not great.

Maybe Ace for Aces is a "handoff" song. The song clearly has a BG video, so far showing that blown-up Death Star thing, yet the song gives me some rebirth vibes. Perhaps the end of the video will allude to the next release:

Ideally you want to play some of the shorter songs to make the process faster. A few I know include KEEP ON MOVIN, emotion, Twin Bee, air, Jam and marmalade, GENOM SCREAMS and BRILLIANT2U.
You also want to be getting AAA's on EXTRA STAGE as often as possible to maximize the amount of steps you get (or on all the stages of you're still working on BABYLON's ADVENTURE)

Once you reach EXTRA STAGE LEVEL 3, you can technically fail the 1st and 2nd STAGES (using RISKY or LIFE4 to be quick) then only really play FINAL and EXTRA (and gain steps there). If you're aiming for extreme efficiency you'd ideally be playing some of the shorter songs in the game (mentioned above). Just don't accidentally fail out FINAL STAGE XD

Sounds like he either didn't have Rinon's Adventure cleared, or it was extremely busy at D&B. If you've already finished Rinon's Adventure, then you'd only need 7 play sessions at most to be able to access Endymion (and this assumes you were just starting for the day).

Since RINON's ADVENTURE 3 just came out (and also gave rise to ENDYMION in the first place), I'm sure Jeff/Fungah still had to grind through all of that (as do most people), and that's at minimum 50 sets including the unlock of UNLOCK LEVEL A (105 steps per Challenge=minimum 9 sets each, +156 steps for WORLD 6, which is another 13 sets minimum). While I do recall him playing the night the update was activated, I do remember comments on his Twitter or something saying that Dave and Busters was crowded (it was half-day Wednesday). I don't think he hardcore ground through by playing all short songs or by failing halfway through sets, so yeah, it's gotta take awhile.

It took me 3 hours to just play 13 sets :/ (which means unlocking Ishtar's charts and getting ~48 steps into out of focus). 8 hours actually seems efficient in comparison to that.

So if Expert gives you a chance to play Ace of Aces , then I'd expect AOA to pop up soon.

It's expected because DDR is a household name for arcaders within the country. DDR is a smash hit in the 90s to 2000s but today, player tastes and other issues didn't make DDR popular as before. Our latest version is just X3 vs 2ndMIX before the arrival of DDR A.

Actually I'm pretty sure DDR X2 was out latest official release, but some arcades might have gotten X3 since it didn't require eamusement. America has had a weird relationship with DDR releases. For instance, we never officially got DDR Extreme, but you still see it everywhere.

At this point in time, it doesn't seem like this is possible. echospherics tried playing ENDYMION on , got 983k but didn't activate the ENCORE EXTRA (and he's unlocked everything). I think it's safe to say that ENCORE EXTRA is only accessible by playing Expert (and passing).

Look at the comment thread on 513's Tweet. He apparently unlocked everything, and passed, but didn't get ENCORE. So it seems like you need that AA+ (950k)

I would agree, though, that there is a possibility further down the line that the requirements are lowered, like they did with Replicant D-Ignition 2 years ago. I'd say we wait at least a month before anything is made easier for people.
