2. The misrated songs were rated back when the Xscale was first introduced. The team was still figuring out what should be rated what. Now they have a good handle on how to properly rate.

Yeah I only touched Extreme since it was mentioned but SN1 is still my favorite mix [I could play the CS until I die] and there are still a lot of tracks there misrated there as well.

I won't even address how badly rated Midnight Special is for and How was even rated a 5 on the old sale is crazy.

X is top of the podium, the worst overall mix. It gave us the Groove Radar charts.

2014 gave us nothing worthy maybe besides a couple of KOs, so I'd say that's the worst imo out of the arcade ones. (DCE, and 2010 are utterly gross.)
X removed some of my favorite songs, but the newer KOs are ok.
SN2 was ok, but some of the charts and ratings disgust me.

DanceDanceRevolution (2014, even though it includes 2015 and is nothing more than a new UI 2013 instead of its own game, but that's semantics) gave us the Pyramid Building crossovers, the Yuniver Hills project, most of BOSS ON PARADE, Beach Side Bunny, starmine's revival, HEARTBEAT FORMULA (vinyl Mix), Poochie, Summer fantasy........... and that's not including Replicant D-ignition, EXTRA ATTACK, and lowkey the SUMMER DIARY..........

New charts suck bring back So Deep and give it a 19 /s

Yeah Supernova 2 had a few bad songs (groove radar specials, jupiter, some of the licenses), but at least I don't cringe all the time going down the list like I do in X. Seriously, most of the songs in X are 9s and 10s and most of the X-Specials aren't enjoyable at all.

2014 gave us plenty of fun stuff. I remember having to unlock songs through extra savior and most of them were pretty enjoyable. RDI helped bring interest back into the game. Most of the songs were stepped fairly well.

I appreciate X for what it tried to do. It was aiming at a more Americanized "gritty urban street" vibe, and that's an aesthetic I can get behind; feels especially appropriate for a dancing game. Overall, the song list is pretty hit or miss, but there's some gems in there: Flourish is a personal favorite, and even stuff like Taj He Spitz is catchy at the very least. All of the crossovers (Übertreffen, Blue Rain, ZERO, and of course NADESHIKO) are nice, too.

That's not to say X isn't flawless. I do feel like the overall presentation falls a bit short, a lot of the charts still have that SN1-level of BS, and there could be more focus on KOs from...yknow...actually recognizable artists. But, there's stuff in there that's worth defending.

At risk of derailing the thread further (fuck it, we're doing it live), I've never gotten the hype for NADESHIKO. Everything about it sounded off, like it was piecemealed together from several different projects, with little rhyme or reason. It's the one song from X that everyone seems to adore, and I can't get behind the song myself.
Waiting 4 u is one of the best songs DDR has seen in years, and very little has come close to it in my eyes. Waiting 4 u alone is why X is worth playing. (Ubertreffen, Blue Rain, Tracers (4Beat Mix), Slip Out (bounce in beat mix), etc. are also worthy inclusions to any DDR game.)
