Same as Gameoson, but I like to test it a couple of days (2-3) after it is done before submitting it to see if I still feel the same way I do with the simfile as I had before when making it.
I almost never finish the simfile the day I start it so this is what usually happens for me as well.Post #402 · Posted at 2016-04-23 09:25:24pm 9.1 years ago

I actually don't have any doubles charts ready to be released just yet, but I'll be sure to include some by the time the semester is over for me (that is, if I can even survive that long).
Late Append: It can take anywhere from a few hours to a few months for me to complete a file depending on the song I want to step. I try to take my time with every single chart and make sure that every single step is completely deliberate.

You guys are all crazy! I usually spend 7-12 hours on a set of charts
10m
20m
40m-1h
1h-2h
4h-6h
gfx 30m
cut/lyric file 30m
Add doubles to it like I do for my personal releases and the time estimate increases. Seeing some of you guys with such short times makes me envious - I'm too OCD about what I'm personally looking for in a file. Also means I burnout a lot, which is why I end up with some weird song choices - if I'm following something different I can push through and usually finish. It just means my files end up more convoluted than most ^.^

I've spent at least 7 hours on all of my charts this week spread across 5 days this week + some days a month before. :l I'm working to get this one as enjoyable as possible. However, usually I just wing it and spend like, 4 hours spread across to get all of my difficulties.

How much time do you guys usually spend on making a new chart? 5+ hours?
Ranged from 3-6 hours. Or Days if I've some work to do. Depends on how's my inspiration doing.

So assuming my bad luck continues, CLOUDIO stands a pretty good chance.

I hope so, I worked hard on my file to face you lol
This song is pretty cool so I decided to chart this. I gave my time on making this. I spend my half of the day to chart this. Personally, I liked my

Sometimes I make a chart in a month, sometimes I make a file in 30 minutes. I don't really have a constant when it comes to making files. I have a habit of playtesting my charts several times over in case of stray notes.

In the past, it would take me a couple of hours to make a decent enough first draft of a
chart. This is when I used to pick songs the week of a new SC theme and had to step something almost blindly. I'd sometimes skip over sections that I find difficult to step and then come back to them later so sometimes I don't finish all at once.
More recently, I've been making files relatively quickly in StepMania, taking maybe 30 minutes to an hour to make a
chart. This is because I have songs in mind that I want to step and I try to plan out rhythm (and sometimes pattern) choices in my head throughout a regular day / week. Then it becomes a matter of transferring my ideas into StepMania when I have the time. Once I make an initial draft of a chart and have to stop messing around in StepMania (i.e. Get back to responsibilities), I test it out on my phone using Beats when I'm not at a computer. Over a few playthroughs I find things I want to tweak a bit and change them when I have time.
Lower difficulties don't take as long. Sometimes
takes a considerable amount of time, mainly when the song doesn't have consistent 8th & 4th rhythms.
Also, most of the time I only intend to have a
chart and the
is more of an afterthought. (This was actually the case with Age-Age Money).

'Ys II Special' is the Korean licensed version of Ys II, made by Mantra. This song is that version of 'To Make the End of Battle', arranged by SoundTeMP. Monaural audio is not error because original music is for AdLib sound card(OPL2), so there is no stereo audio. Enjoy this 16bit like FM tune! Video is from the real opening of original game Ys II Special.
chart used rolls, so you need SM 3.95 or above. (don't use vanilla 3.9)

From Mii Tomo Grooves, also by Dj CUTMAN. The song may sound like it abruptly ended because it's made to be loopable.
A pretty cool song. There's an 81-note section near the end in which 55 of them are yellow. Watch out, and enjoy!

This file is a little more straightforward than Spork!'s entry, but there are still some bpm gimmicks, and on the heavy/challenge charts, one blistering 16th stream, one (fairly easy) use of hands, and one footswitch. Originally I was going to have a challenge chart for singles, but I decided that it would have too much fake difficulty, so I consolidated it into the heavy chart; please take a look at the doubles

Also, I noticed after starting to step this file that Chmurek stepped this in the Zenius-I-vanisher 2014 Summer Contest. Consider checking that file out if you haven't before for prettier graphics and a different take on the song.

"OH GOD ANOTHER HORRIBLE SIM," you might be saying, but that is your opinion, at the moment.
This song to me hours to step and with the help of some friendly users it is as good as it is at the moment.
The light chart is just a basic freeze chart with many jumps. The standard has notes that go with the vocals with freezes and simple forms of gallops in with the vocals. Then, the heavy chart is a mixture of freeze notes, 16ths, gallops, and a fun 16th note stream for the downfall pattern in the middle of the song. Therefore, this should be one of the best files I have ever made.
Please give any critique through DM or just say it now.

Late advertisement
I heard this song on the radio awhile back and it sounded steppable so I stepped it. I also submitted this song to Simfile Shuffle as a ROUND C skeleton, but ohaiimian didn't step it (I had already had my own steps mostly ready in the event I received my own skeleton)
Look out for the stops, there're 5 or 6 of them but they're only a beat long (the last is half a beat)
Not much has changed since I first made the charts, just a couple of minor tweaks at the beginning.
APPEND: Update: 4/24/16 12:56PM, added cdtitle, changed .sm to reflect renaming of files.
Redownload if it matters to you.

[ELECTRIC BUCHIAGE SWING]
FIRE FIREは電気スウィングの夢を見るか? / millstones
BPM 133 |

Does Fire Fire dream of electric swing?
It was a good day when I heard this song. Of all the things I expected to hear from SDVX, an electro swing mix of FIRE FIRE was very low on that list, but it's a really, really good song. There are two takes on a 9, there. One started life as an 8 but was deemed to hard to be an 8 when I had finished. The other was just designed to be hard.
You'll notice that I've not delved into the 24ths. Now, I've tried both 16ths and 24ths and by my eyes it fits 16ths more. If you disagree and want to bring the swing back, I guess it's not too hard to quantize them.
