I'm confused at how the X-mixes work now. I thought they took up two stages, yet the player is at Final Stage in the screenshot.

Huh, they are supposed to take up two stages, I wonder how Mieya got that to work :X.

He might be on his 2nd stage actually, and the game changes to "Final Stage" when he scrolls over the Xmixes.

It should be noted that the Xmixes only take 1 spot in courses though.

I hope Xmixes count as 2. I can see people playing nothing but Xmixes to play longer if they count as 1.

Random question here but, when do you think they'll announce the next DDR?

I'd say sometime in the months of June to August.

Depends. SN2 was released in August of 2007 and X was announced in July 2008. However, X had to deal with things like designing the new cabinet and junk. Once we see how the event schedule (Internet ranking, etc.) goes, we'll have a better estimate of when the next DDR will be announced.

...with the estimation on how DDR X will come out in the states and in EU, i would say they would announce the next DDR game sometime Dec. 2009 or early 2010.

I could be wrong though =/

I believe it was already confirmed that they ARE two songs, so i'm guessing it will work how Pie said, it will just change when highlighted.
