Is it just me, or does every male pop singer from the 80s have the exact same voice?

Similar production techniques. Most music from the same decade sounds similar. In the '80s record labels struck gold with a particular sound, so they tried to replicate it with as many similar-sounding musicians as possible. It's less obvious now because gated reverb and analog keyboards were used and abused back in that decade, but the fact that the music sounds similar makes the vocals sound similar in a strange way.
The same thing is happening today. I hear a lot of whiny, teenage-sounding male vocals on the radio whenever I turn it on. Same with EDM tracks with a female voice, all of which sound the same.

Every female idol singer that gets featured in DDR sounds basically the same to me.

I really am curious, how many of those are under the age of 18? I'm guessing at least 50%.

I have noticed that the lead singer of Erasure sounds a LOT like Alison Moyet when he's singing baritone.

I'd go so far as to say that they sound exactly the same.

I do think a lot of New Romantic 80's singers sound very much alike (Talk Talk, Visage, Ultravox, OMD, etc). However, there's definite differences between later era 80's singers like Limahl, Rick Astley, Mark King (Level 42) and Nik Kershaw.

I didn't realize it was 4/20 until I got an email from Gabberdisco stating they released "420".
