"Crybabies unite~ ♡"
Quote: PerroXX
Speaking of Come to life ...

I think the song is around 180 BPM. I like the steps in general, but 1:12 feels slightly overkill and 1:52 seems a bit too fast to actually put spins.

Yass the song is so good.
Reminds me of a KO from the Hottest Party series with more EDM.

Played it twice. Chart is alright except for some doublesteps. Fairly easy 16. Might go for a PFC another day.

There are no doublesteps. It's all spins.

I noticed that the first time I was playing it. I immediately could tell it was a spin-heavy chart.

Really interesting song - like nothing I would expect out of ARM, TBH. It reminds me of MLG airhorn remixes.

spins don't exist if you're trying to time well so they're doublesteps lol

Um... yeah? What kind of a question is this?

In this case it is a matter of learning the patterns before being able to do them, so it'll take time for me to do them properly, but yes I do the spins in a lot of charts after I know when the spins appear. This might take me a bit longer to learn due to it being Extra Stage Level 2 and forcing Life4 on me, but I do plan on doing the spins here just like I do the spins on EDSM, Poochie, Cirno's Perfect Math Class, and Maware Setsugetsuka.

It was awkward playing Come to Life the one time I played it because I could recognize the spins as they popped up and didn't do any of them. Any song with spins and crossovers that I try to BS through tanks my timing completely.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

Seriously why do people complain so much about crossovers so much?
What the hell does U1 smoke to come up with EGOISM 440?

Crossovers suck in the 17+ range because they're really difficult to score well on.

Below that they're trivial for the most part.

So what if they're difficult? That's literally the point, otherwise it'd all be streams.

>implying all being stream is bad

though seriously, I think the thing is most people want charts to be hard in the style of ITG charts; and you can't say ITG charts weren't hard, they went up to what would easily be the equivalent of 18-footers, and almost none of them were stupid (yes, I know Vertex^2 exists, but charts like that were a minority). I'm an avid DDR fan, but I will admit that ITG charts were a lot of fun.

That and crossovers are much harder to make feel nice on the pad - a lot of the time it feels like they just wanted to make the challenge chart harder and that's never fun (Examples of this include: Every pre-X2 18-footer). You can use crossovers (in fact crossovers with good flow I find are really really fun), but it has to be within reason, and making crossovers that actually flow on your feet is really hard. (See: The fact that every 18-footer before DDR X2.)

It's not impossible, but really hard and few people (myself included) can chart that consistently. Large amounts of stream is hard, no doubt, especially since it's stamina taxing to keep it up, but as long as it's synced to anything in the slightest (so, basically don't be FAXX challenge) it never feels stupid. Crossovers will feel stupid so much faster it's not funny.

That brings us to DDR X2. Anti-Matter is considered one of the best 18-footers in the entire game. Elemental Creation is the other (except for people who complain about the tempo gimmicks, but they aren't honestly that bad in either song). I hopefully don't have to explain why.

EDIT: TL;DR: Crossovers aren't intrinsically BS, but they are much easier to misuse than simple large streams.
EDIT #2: Also difficult patterns are really hard to read first-time, no one wants to lose a run just because of something that he couldn't possibly have been prepared for. Especially not when you have to play another set just to get a second attempt.
Take, for example, MAX 300 - a good player could reasonably pass that in his first try on EXTRA STAGE, on a sightread attempt.
Now take PARANOiA ~HADES~ (Heavy, as Challenge's ending is truly bs, sightreading or not) which ahahahaha first try that suckers

that's why people complain cause it's hard this is how rhythm games work lol.

I sure as hell complained a dickload about IIDX but I sucked it up and did a ton of work on it. I don't like crossovers but I'm still trying to improve on them and score well on 18s. Same thing.

So, is Remy Wiki accurate that "Come To Life" is an E.E Stage 4 song? I saw a screen earlier that showed someone being Level 2, and having access to the song. Is there a Level 4 now, beyond 1-3? If so, what does it take to get it?
