They kinda are actually. It might cause a minor confusion for a player who never saw a dance game before but besides that they aren't that necessary. The arrows still show directions in them if you aren't used to the lanes, and there's some kind of receptor line there to point out the timing.

It's been out for a while, but it's mainly been aimed at exercise/non-arcade venues without a coin slot.

But, an actual, coin-op arcade release is coming later this year.

It hasn't been released yet. It will be shown at the gamescom fair in Cologne, Germany.

Actually that was the original/fitness centre design.

The arcade cabinet looks like a more solid unit akin to the Pump it Up FX cabinets.

Yeah I highly doubtful that will happen. Mostly because most people who aren't loyal enough to DDR's songlist and gameplay would have switched over to ITG or another alternative by now.

It's a nod to the Raver's Choice version from DDR, which was simply called Vol. 4 (which is in nod to the EP the untitled song came from). ;)

Anyways, the more I see this game, the more I really want to play it. I'd honestly play this as much as Dancerush if R1 gets in on this.

Only complaint I have is that I wish this had IC card support (or maybe you use the SMX app and you can unlock an extra stage system/exclusive songs.); basically, give people incentive to scan the QR codes for more than just high scores.

Honestly this just looks like a glorified simfile pack.

Do you mean as in the AC version or the game as a whole?
Because the game itself adds an extra panel in the center, so it has to be played a bit differently, but either way I suppose I can see where you're coming from.
