My first day there were some problems after scanning my card that took about 3 or 4 minutes to resolve, but it never effected gameplay, and I only remember it happening one day.
The machine in Orland Parks down arrow on the P1 side was sticking every once in a while when I visited them last week. It wasn't too bad, I only got 2 misses, but it's too dangerous for trying to unlock songs at level 1 and 2, especially if you are using life 4 or risky to help get consistent extra stages.

Hawaii player here. From what I've heard, they're doing free play for everyone at night since its a brand new game.
If you go in the morning/early afternoon, there's practically no line (or at least that was the case last Saturday). No unlimited free play, but you can get to level 3 pretty quickly.
