that challenge chart for Prey is terrible. why did they go with an Unreal type of chart of all things? the chart should be more focused on streams not jumps.

I think they wanted to try something different instead of the typical streamy 16th chart everyone expects. And the output was a Sumidagawa on steroids that got run over by a truck

Sumidagawa also happens a lot in Maid Lunch... I guess they felt like jumping around for that update.

is degrs levels of bad when the fact that shion's ending initially didn't use 12ths like it should have in TWENTY-SIXTEEN is imo more atrocious than this especially since konami went to lengths of fixing up charts with note q. issues in X
i will say pray oni has tons of flaws but to compare it to ptf and the likes is beyond me lmao, sure ig A20 has the best chart quality in the whole series rn but still

I think Bouncy Trippy is my favorite part of the update, but all the new songs are pretty good, and most of the new charts are decent. I personally am with the crowd of Prey Challenge being really disappointing, but it looks like they are trying to branch out and do different things with step charts, which is cool.

Just think Prey as the next DEGRS in terms of a joke chart in case of someone picking in a tournament, is bad but you can "enjoy" it seeing how people are trying to pass in a fun way compared to PTF which is a lot worse.
Those are the new songs btw, idk which one is better ... Both are godlike songs

I love Prey. I love quirky charts like that.
That being said, I feel like having distinct difficulty levels like DDR does massively hinder how much you do can with a chart.. that's probably an awful sentence. What I mean to say is that if this was in PIU it would fit to have a jumpy, gimmicky chart like this alongside more normal high level charts due to them not having labelled difficulties and allowing songs to have as many different charts as they seem fit, so I feel this challenge chart is a BIT of a waste of a difficulty slot. Definitely an awful sentence but I think you get me.
But it's funny so A++++.

I mean this is pretty much how I feel.It's not really a "joke" chart rather than a gimmicky chart focusing on a specific technique. It works as a chart for a different take on the song, but it's also very restrictive because while I feel the doubles does a better job making it a challenge, the singles had to be there because that's how DDR works. Couldn't even do a different take on the same idea that's adjusted for singles.
I will say it is much better than just another stream chart, that's for sure. That would have been much more boring.

I think Prey is a missed opportunity to take the expert chart even further. The song itself makes for perfect stream material and a chart full of jumps doesn't really fit.
