I've been listening to Pinkerton so much lately and listening to their new music just breaks my heart T_T

I find it a little amusing how that album ended up being very influential to the whole "emo" trend, but they ended up completely abandoning that sound after that album, since most critics hated it at the time.

And then those same critics jizz their pants over it whenever it gets mentioned now. Woops.

Haha that's true. Rolling Stone gave it a 3/5 in 1996 when it first came out, then they went back and gave it a second review eight years later, rating it 5/5. I love the album for really sentimental personal reasons (da feels)

9-year old bullied for My Little Pony backpack

I honestly don't know what's more pathetic. The backpack of choice for the 9 year old boy or the boy being bullied due to that backpack.

What's pathetic is the fact that the school banned said backpack for it being a "trigger of bullying". That in and of itself is the most pathetic thing about the situation.

Amazing how all it took was MLP being involved for this to go from just a local news story to suddenly being given as much spotlight on every major news show as the fucking missing plane from Malaysia Airlines, with over 200 people on board. Clearly they are both of equal importance right now.

Maybe some of the people on board that Malaysian plane were wearing MLP-related attire. Shocked

News shows like blowing things out of proportion.

Like, yes, a kid being bullied is shitty, and banning something because it's a "trigger for bullying" is 100% counterproductive, but I think a missing airplane with a couple hundred people on it is significantly more important.

The problem with that news story about the missing plane is that it has been on the news for the past week already.
NEW stories rising will obviously over-shadow it so as to keep people to watching NEWS.
It's a cycle until the news is stale and goes on to something else. Happens with missing bodies, crooks, trials, etc.

If you're interested in this sort of thing, or just want something new to check out, here's a rather extensive list of some different variations of various company's opening logos/vanity plates. Not a new find by any means (although the website apparently went through a graphic overhaul since the last time I visited), but still interesting to see.

I think another thing to consider is it's coming out of Atlanta, Georgia. The South. Where I'm from (right now).

If you were a nine-year-old flashing an MLP bookbag around this state, you'd suffer the same fate. Many parents would straight up call a male child a faggot for something like that and chide the parents for LBGT principles. People are seriously that mean around the bible belt.

True, but people in Upstate NY (where I'm from) are equally douchey.

Same with Illinois.

Less so in the country where people couldn't give a shit either way though.

I love the idea of the kid not having an MLP backpack will not make him a target. Because you know having a national news story about it won't make him a target either.

Switching gears to my job:

Tells you how out of touch some people are. Dude drops a dinosaur Gateway off to do a data transfer from it to a new All-In-One. I haven't checked the OS on the new system, but it has to be Win 7 or 8. Drops off his copy of Office late.

It's version 4.2.

4.2 was manufactured back in 1993. This copy of Office is 21 years old.

No, it's not compatible.

The best I think is either Voltage or Typhoon. Livewire is pretty good if it's the morning and I need something to get me going.

I can't find Livewire anywhere right now.

Cops are kneeing down some black dudes causing a ruckus on the corner. Downtown Little Rock so fresh, yo.
