I always wanted to do cartoon impressions, and now I finally had the courage to do it. Go easy on me, I'm no professional (although I do wanna be a voice actor one day).

"suffering from success"

Alright. Story/rant time.

For those not in the know, I was in a band around this time called Lunar Landings (now named Home Court Advantage). Around July, I was kicked from the band after performing only two gigs, and looking back on it now, I can admit that we weren't all that ready to perform live at all. Our originals were barely cooked through (funny how the ones I wrote were the ones they barely took the time to practice or learn at all), our covers weren't finalized (there ware literally dozens upon dozens of covers that we were planning on doing, and rather than take the time to sort them out, the rest of the group tried to learn all of them "just because"), and our mindset just wasn't right (admittedly, I've never taken the stage before and I wasn't used to being the lead; in fact, I had a large panic attack during our second gig which almost knocked me out of commission. Needless to say, I wasn't ready). They kicked me out by having the drummer, my friend Tom, message me over Facebook. Fun. On top of all that, they never publicly acknowledged my leave. On top of that, they found a replacement for me the very next day.

Jump to today. I'm in the process of writing and recording new material for my upcoming release, No Cure For Meteors; they've finished work on a 7 song EP. I've tried to keep my separate ways with them, trying to form my own identity with my own abilities. Tom linked to some Facebook event for the venue of their next gig, as well as a webpage where you could listen to some of the songs on their EP, which I will not link to. Among the songs was a song that was oddly familiar to me. A song titled "Goodbye 315"; a song I co-wrote the lyrics for, as well as the backing vocal melody/chorus guitar for. That struck me as odd. When I talked to Tom a month ago, he told me that all of the songs we all worked on were scrapped. All of the work they did with me was thrown out, to start anew. Seeing this song there made me puzzled, but also made me very happy. Maybe they were finally acknowledging my existence in the band. Maybe this was their tribute to me or some stupid, utterly naive shit like that.

So I check to see if they give me credit for my parts, and nope. My name wasn't mentioned anywhere in the credits. I thought it was a fluke at first; maybe they forgot, or maybe the credit will be given in the inner packaging of the EP. So I listened to the track... And as I listened to the track, my jaw... dropped... to the floor... eyes staring vacantly at the screen.... body feeling drained and numb... I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I honest-to-God could not believe what I was hearing. They removed all of the things I wrote and crafted for the song (save for the chorus guitar melody). Just so they didn't have to credit me for what I've done... on what was 40% my song anyway. They completely disregarded my work in the band just so they could save face. So they could save a little extra cash money. To save... To save... I couldn't believe it. I was Benoit-ed. Erased from history, never to be spoken about again.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, I'M A LITTLE BIT FUCKING FURIOUS RIGHT NOW.

I'm late to replying on this, but... oh... every time I hear news of a Weezer album I have that short-lived hope for it to to be good...

I've been listening to Pinkerton so much lately and listening to their new music just breaks my heart T_T

The Red Album was probably the last one I enjoyed to some degree.

Well, I finally made this a thing. It's a little barebones looking right now, but hopefully I can spiff it up in the coming weeks.

Man, that's a shame. Listened to that song, and I have to say there were only 2 things that really left an impression: guitars and vocals. While the guitar's riff sounds fine, the vocals just sound very weak. Was this Chrissy Gerace the fronter of the band back when you were with them? Plus, this genre's really not my thing, so I'm interested to see what you produce for No Cure for Meteors, because, from what I remember of your past work, you have the "Home Genre" Advantage!

No. I was originally the lead singer/rhythm guitarist for the band. She was brought on after 2.5 months of the band's existence, due recommendation from out bassist. Right off the bat, we didn't get along very well, but I kept my peace. I tried doing what I had to do to get these songs done. But, eventually, her power surged through. We did more covers of pop songs, we did more alternating "perspective" vocals (and, let me tell you, "Sugar, Were Going Down" does not work from two perspectives), and we leaned towards a more poppier, "clean" sound. Needless to say, if I wasn't kicked out, I wasn't gonna stay in there for much longer. My works were being ignored, and when we did work on them, nobody bothered to learn the proper parts (Harmonies? Alternating time signatures? Genre shifts? What's dat??), the songs we picked to cover were either uninteresting to play (Spin Doctor's "Two Princes" and Green Day's "American Idiot") or just downright difficult to do (AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" and Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?"), and my presence there just seemed more like a burden to them anyway. So, really, Chrissy got what she wanted all along, to be the star of the band. If that meant choking me off, then so be it. I'm not bitter. I'm not fucking bitter at all.

I seem to be in the very miniscule minority of fans who love all of the albums they've released (yes, even Raditude to an extent, although nothing can excuse "Can't Stop Partying" or "In The Mall"). Granted, Pinkerton is a masterpiece, but all of their albums are incredible if given the chance. (My favorite is either "Hurley" or "Make Believe". Judge away.)

Whoa! Well okay, maybe I'll take another listen to Hurley. I just recently listened to "Where's My Sex" from that album and I wasn't feeling it. I did like Memories, so maybe there will be another gem or two in there.

Yeah, "Where's My SocksSex?" is a dumb song from start to finish, but I love it based on goofiness alone. Not the best song on the album by any means, though; that honor belongs to "Unspoken" (or "Time Flies", depending on my mood).

Well, if you want that to disappear...check on the "Don't display this message" checkbox...
I only get that when playing a course and a graphic is odd for some reason.
Other than that, never.

Run in fullscreen if you're concerned. There are no warnings when running Stepmania in fullscreen.

I find it a little amusing how that album ended up being very influential to the whole "emo" trend, but they ended up completely abandoning that sound after that album, since most critics hated it at the time.

And then those same critics jizz their pants over it whenever it gets mentioned now. Woops.

Yeah, I find it amusing to think how drastically Weezer shifted their sound. They went from raw, gritty, dark rock one album to shiny, poppy, claustrophobic pop-rock the next. Granted, "Maladoit" came close (dangerously close a few times) to having that "Pinkerton" sound, but the lyrics/melodies were still borderline "Green". And then, "Make Believe" came around, and... Well...
