Z-I-v Battle Royale 2018: MISSED CONNECTIONS

Welcome the loser's bracket/"missed connections" for Battle Royale 2018. You can use this as an edge to complete and get feedback on work in progress or unreleased simfiles if you've fallen out of the main Battle Royale. If you never joined/submitted for the main Battle Royale in the first place, you're also allowed to enter, but only for the first round. The people that get eliminated in the main Round 2 will be enrolled in the Missed Connections Round 2, same goes for Rounds 3 and 4.

The rules will work the same as the main Battle Royale. 15 points to spread up to 10 files, the deadline is on 17:00 UTC Sunday, private voting, so on, basically reference those if you're unsure about something. The 12 (or possibly less depending on qualification ties) that get eliminated from Round 1 of the main Battle Royale will be entered here on Monday morning. In the meantime, if you've never joined Battle Royale, you're welcome to sign up right now!

March 11th-March 18th: Round 1 submissions
March 18th-March 25th Round 1 voting
March 25th-April 1st: Round 2 submissions
April 1st-April 8th: Round 2 Voting
April 8th-April 15th: Round 3 submissions
April 15th-April 22nd: Round 3 voting
April 22nd-April 29th: Round 4 submissions
April 29th-May 6th: Round 4 Voting

Hopefully this doesn't overlap with Summer Contest 2018.

The original title was clickbait, 'SIMFILES', hence some things in posts #3 and #5.

Cool, I guarantee you I'll be participating here sooner than I'd hope. Also, "Missed Connections" doesn't really work as a title for Battle Royale, since there were no connections in the first place ever since the tournament bracket was abandoned and replaced with a bottom-half elimination.

Perhaps a name like Z-I-v Battle Royale 2018: RESURRECTION would be a better suited title.

Yeah so I'll be voting here too. I would really encourage, that if you're actually willing to truly take feedback to heart that you should ask for it, we don't all bite here.

And honestly a lot of the round 1 files showed a lot of room for improvement imo, but that's what this is for.

So yeah, not entering but my eyes will be on it.

I second this, although to be fair last year's losers bracket was also called MISSED CONNECTIONS so I get wanting a little consistency.

The previous Battle Royale Missed Connections/Resurrection had eliminations (otherwise wouldn't this just be a freebie-contest for four rounds?) so yes, there will be eliminations here too.

If there are 17 people barred from the main Round 2 (12 eliminated + 5 that didn't submit), then it'll be the top 9 here. (Half of odd numbers are rounded up if Battle Royale 2017 is anything to go by.) If another three join (let's say some Battle Royale 2017 participants that didn't show up for 2018), then it'll be the top 10. If somehow the number of people submit a file is exactly or less than the qualification threshold (let's say 8 out of 17 people submit), it'll just be the top half of those (4). Hopefully interest in this Missed Connections/Resurrection actually manages to stay afloat this time. :P
