Z-I-v Summer Contest 2013

-Where do I sign up for the contest?
You can make a post in this thread stating that you want to participate in the category and you will be added. You can also send me a PM with the request.

-Where do I submit my entries?
You submit them to the simfile category made exclusively for this year's contest. Please provide simfile information when uploading. As a courtesy for others that will download your entry, please use the comment box to mention any extra information about the simfile.

-Can I upload a simfile that doesn't meet the week's theme requirement?
No you cannot. Any simfile that does not meet the week's theme will be disqualified and deleted from the category.

-Will I be disqualified from the tournament if I do not vote?
No. You will only be disqualified for the week you did not vote in. It does not affect previous or following weeks.

-Can another contestant or non-contestant submit my entry if I am unable to?
Yes as long as the entry is submitted before the deadline and in the appropriate category

-Can I create Beginner and Challenge charts for my simfiles as well?
Yes, but the Light, Standard, and Heavy charts are still required.

-I have a YouTube video of a simfile I made that I did not release. Can I still submit it for the contest?
If the simfile in the video has not or is not available for the public to download, then it is allowed.

-Are graphics required for the entries?
Graphics - such as the background, banner, CD jacket, etc - are entirely optional. They may, however, be the deciding factor when people submit their votes for the week.

-Are Doubles charts required?
Doubles charts are completely optional unless otherwise stated. Solo, Couple, and Pump It Up charts are optional as well.

-Are mines/shock arrows allowed when creating the charts?
Yes

-Can I use graphics provided by another contestant or noncontestant?
Yes

-Can I submit ideas for the weekly theme?
Of course! You can post them in the thread or send me a PM. However, it may or may not be used so don't keep your hopes up.

-Am I required to post a review?
No, but it would benefit the other users greatly. There will be times where there are too many files to give detailed reviews. If you are intent in giving reviews, you can make a post in the thread to let the contestants know that they can have their review via PM. However, please refrain from posting short reviews that may agitate the contestants. If you state the entry was terrible, then explain why it was terrible.

-I am not participating in this contest. Can I still review and vote?
Yes.

-Can I still sign up as a contestant after the contest has started?
Yes

-Is it required to add the hyphen when naming the simfile?
YES OR YOU WILL GET YELLED AT BY THE COMMUNITY

-How can I become a co-host of next year's tournament?
As of now, it's by winning the Z-I-v Tournament of Immortals, which is held before the summer contest. There may be other methods in the future, however, so stay tuned for further information.

-Hey I changed something on my simfile and now it's gone!? What happen!?
If the file is renamed in anyway, then all your files will be deleted due to the files being tied to the name you previously had. It might also be if certain punctuation marks are used such as question marks or exclamation points. If you make any changes to the title of the simfile upload, then make sure you re-upload everything as well.
