Where are half of the files for this week? I can't seem to find links to Cry! Roar!!, Heaven or Hell, or a few of the others.

Assuming people not in the contest are allowed to vote...
1st: Self vs Self (ft. In Flames) - 3 (by FAR the best thing here, IMO)
2nd: The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku - 2 (sloppy at times but competent in following most rhythms)
3rd: Gaussian Mist - 1 (ridiculous, but there was way too much double BPM/wrong BPM/constant double stepping in the other files for me to enjoy)
Totals:
ERaSeR EnGinE DistorteD - 7
Self vs Self (ft. In Flames) - 5
Seikan Hikou - 5
prohibition of world - 4
Cry! Roar!! - 3
The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku - 2

OMGASDF I almost forgot to vote.

Heaven or Hell - 1
Also, what is with the extreme dislike of double steps? From what I've seen all of the REPLICANT D-ACTION songs double step and that was what influenced me the most when I was making the chart for LASER CRUSTER (Most of the other times it's me experimenting/accidental).

Double stepping is pretty much a mistake, in my eyes. They hinder flow drastically, and make hitting anything fast incredibly difficult and awkward. The BPM in most of these are nearly unreadable without memorization, or just plain incorrect (Cry! Roar!! drifts really bad, and I believe Heaven or Hell does?). It makes me wonder if these were tested on pad. Double BPM for no reason = , especially when you also have a 4x slowdown in the same chart.
As a note, I really wouldn't use DDR boss songs as an example, considering how things like Paranoia Hades, Chaos, Trigger, New Decade, Pluto The First, and others have turned out. I don't believe Shiny World or Possession have double steps in them, either.

You see wrong. Many of the RDA songs (In particular, Pierce the Sky) use things like AFRONOVA walks that many people incorrectly identify as double steps.

Why are you putting New Decade in with those other songs? New Decade has a great chart.

I thought New Decade was some 400 BPM Replicant song with a ton of doublestepping? I haven't watched it recently, so maybe I'm thinking of something else, or not remembering it quite right.

It is 400BPM, but it doesn't have any double stepping in it. It does have a lot of AFRONOVA walks, but they really aren't that bad.

(it will be a 10 with lot of crossovers)
yes PLEASE.That's a hard 10 double.
All crossovers are possible (some on 8th part are hard).
I hope you'll enjoy it on pad
That's very different from "In Scotish Highlands" (my file for the doublezz week).
Winterbliss Doublezz
(i'll add graphics in the future even if i suck at it)
Other people are free to DL this but warning, it contains rolls (only at beginning), also it's double only like i said one the page before.
I can still send a version were the 6 rolls on the beginning are freezes if anyone ask for it.
Yes i'm a little off topic i know, but i still post it here. Why ?
I planed to use this song for the contest but...
- Double week doesn't use songs that are longer than 2:30
- Long week have mandatory singles charts (and my feeling about this song was double)

Sorry, I've been gone a couple days, and also, I'm really sorry Revolver, I'm not trying to pick on you, it's just that I found a lot wrong in what you said.
There's a lot of song with double BPMs, and half BPMs(which if you think about it, makes the original BPM double BPM anyways, Possession for example), so get used to it. And if that was the sole reason you voted that song (no offense Braeden47), there wasn't any Wrong BPMs, any BPM changes, or any double stepping(or at least very little) in Eraser Engine Distorted or Seikan Hikou if I recall correctly
That depends, if it's the same direction twice, then it's fine.
Unreadable? You don't really play that much do you... 400 is still technically readable, so all the songs are pretty much in the clear.
When I was charting Cry! Roar!!, it went exactly with the assist tick, so I have no idea what you're talking about it drifting. Heaven and Hell might drift, I'm not sure because I charted that a while back, but it still shouldn't be that noticeable. It might just be of-sync fr you while you're playing because (for me at least) most songs that are on sync with the song are slightly off sync with the assist tick.
For Heaven and Hell, it WAS a little mean, I've got to admit, not nitpicking at this, but you know this is going to happen in Boss songs soon enough, plus, it adds a challenge for all those players that love a certain speed mod, it either makes them read faster, or read smaller and more precise.
Oh, and I agree with Pie for New Decade, that is a kick ass chart (now, if only I could play it )

Doubling the BPM for no reason is just nonsensical to me. Why make a song that is 160 BPM run at 320 BPM? Also, every song didn't double the BPM, but Seikan Hikou was bland and didn't go to anything, and EED seemed awkward and the song made my ears bleed. Gaussian Mist didn't really look fun, but to be honest I didn't really have a ranking outside of what I thought #1 and #2 were. I just glanced through them again and made a quick choice. Despite have rofldumb trills, the basics of the charts seemed okay (attempting to follow music, not having double steps constantly). On a different note, that Expert is a 14, if not a 15.

Uh, I've played quite a lot. I don't mean that 400 is too fast to read. I mean that having sections of 400 and 25 BPM in the same song with actual notes in both sections is a really, really bad idea. Especially since most songs have nothing in them to justify that.

Cry! Roar!! doesn't drift as I assume it did. However, I don't think the 3/64th runs follow assist tick. >_>Heaven or Hell is understandable, if it doesn't have any sort of official BPM listing. The double BPM is still D:. If anything, just try to get the sync of the song before and after the speed up to be similar. IIRC (going off of memory here), the song gets early after the speed up section.

I'm just not a fan of artificial difficulty.

Last minute entry go:
Cutting it really close this week but this song went through a bunch of revisions. Hope you enjoy it.
5 / 7 / 9
P.S. I apologize in advance but I think my StepMania is acting up on me so the song may be off sync. I went to a friend's house to fix it, but you may want to double check before you play it just to be safe.

Last vote!
Counting Down the Days
Awkward cut
S-: Very DDR-ish, I like it. The only thing I have to say about it that's bad is that it might be a bit too karaoke in some spots.
S-: Too much like the S-, and too much karaoke.
I'm so Happy
I get an offset about -0.09 seconds off from yours with AutoSync...fyi
S-: Better than S-. I think the placement could be a bit more interesting.
S-: yipes, this is a hard 9. A couple really painful doublesteps. Kind of looks like it was meant to be Pump-ish.
The Last Day of Pompeii
oon-tz oon-tz oon-tz oon-tz
S-: This chart feels really good. Well-balanced, good placement, good density - it's a winner. Would pad.
S-: It's kind of funny how much this chart reminds me of ZETA, but you wrote this before we knew about ZETA A bit overstepped in the quiet parts.
My votes: (and since there's only three besides me, you all get votes, yay!)
The Last Day of Pompeii - 3 pts.
Counting Down the Days - 2 pts.
I'm So Happy - 1 pt.
