The best argument for a 20 rating is probably the tremendous difficulty spread at the top of doubles 19s. If anything, I could see them re-rating the harder of those (EGOISM, OTP) as 20, then some new TAG or U1 song is released as a singles 20 to cap off the scale on the singles end.

That said, I'm horrified of what a singles 20 would look like if it's not 2 minutes of afronova walk deathstreams at some crazy bpm to finally beat out VDO for fastest stream in the game.

Rerate the high end 19s and make them 20s so we never have to have this discussion again about what a 20 looks like. Or take something like HE4VEN from SOUND VOLTEX and go nuts, there's so much going on that it would make for a solid 20.

I would really prefer to not see a 20 unless it's a good chart. If it's some VD garbage then keep it in storage, otherwise fine, but just do it already, it's stupid to have a meter that goes to 20 and you don't use it all.

I'm expecting the first 20 to be on the 20th anniversary of DDR. After all, 2018 is only one year away. So really, they should just focus on having a field of 19s, hopefully some that don't suck.

I only care about 20s because 19 is an awkward number to have for the highest level. (Then again, so is 12, but at least it's not a prime number) I can't pass a 16, so I can't exactly care about finding harder songs to pass than what we actually have, since I'm never going to play them. Otherwise, if it happens it just happens, not much fanfare from me.

I still believe they should just shove everything 17+ up a level and rerate the 15s and 16s between 15, 16, and 17. If there is a difficulty area I feel is completely absurd it is the 15-16 area.

Of course it doesn't really matter if the charts don't change, but I feel that's a better option than trying to force a 20 just to round off a rating scale. If the 20 ended up being of the quality of the recent 18s, though, I might be more open to it, but I highly doubt that.

Maybe they are setting up the machine for some removals and hotfixes, or the next batch of charts for the Rinon adventure (idk if they are going to add these charts each months or sooner)

We have several competent 18s, just not 19s.

Anti-Matter doesn't qualify as a competent 18? Or Triple Journey, IX, 888, 冥, or even Valkyrie dimension?

Here's a video of every 18 in the game as of March. Sure some are bad; that's true at practically every difficulty level, but every last one of them being incompetent? I find that much too hard to believe.

Personally, I do think more than half of the 18s are fair game. We just have yet to see a 19 that is actually enjoyable, but knowing Konami's definition of a 19, that might be difficult.

I'd make the half-argument that Egoism 440 is the best 19 so far and its steps are at least straightforward and match the music, with ParaRevo as a runner-up.

Does Possession D- count as a competent 19? Considering Doubles, the ending is completely fair difficulty.

Well, it looks like we're getting another new song from SYUNN in addition to Sulk from Jubeat Clan...
It's going to be a new extra exclusive song, and it's called "Cosy Catastrophe".
It's coming on May 25th.
