I remember playing DDR 3rd Mix as a kid. That's the earliest recollection of my exposure to Bemani games. But Sound Voltex is what got me into Bemani in earnest.

DDR Hottest Party

At the age of 10 I went to a holiday camp that had an EZ2Dancer UK Move, then when I had got back home, I decided to try Dancing Stage Euromix at the arcade and enjoyed it few years later, saw a 5th mix on Holiday, realized Dancing Stage was called DDR in Japan/US, and I think I got into "proper" bemani in 2005 when I had met a new friend and he bought a BeatmaniaIIDX controller (and pop'n) over one weekend

My first BEMANI game was mobile DDR, with EXTREME interface and songs. Sync was mediocre, but the game still was catchy. And the first (and only ) BEMANI arcade experience has been DDR 4thMIX in other city, about 2 years ago this cabinet has been gone.

Back when I was 9 or 10, the very first DDR installment was my introduction to BEMANI. At the time when I saw it at the bowling alley I was at, though, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, nor did I know anything about BEMANI as a whole. It wasn’t until a couple years later when a friend showed me and played KONAMIX, MAX and MAX2 with me when I learned how to play it and got hooked on the series. I definitely don’t love the series as much as I used to (X started the downfall for me), but I will say that I’m happy to have grown up with the series since the beginning and learned about all of the other BEMANI series because of it. Plus it was the main source of me expanding my musical tastes.

For me, it was DDR EXTREME on the arcade. I remember that was my introduction to rhythm games back when my family used to do holiday trips to The Entrance (back around 2006 or 2007 I want to say) and there was an arcade there that included said machine. Ah Jesus, I feel old just typing that.

CS DDR 3rdMix. I barely go to arcades to play DDR and I don't remember which one was my first AC experience (might've been MAX but I'm not so sure)

DDR 3rdMix CS when my brother brought it in with some like this like SwapMagic for the PS2 except its PS1.
I only played Upside Down & Silent Hills.
ventured out to Captain Jack and Boom Boom Dollar hard ass songs for light mode at the time. then found dead end and just kept going the song list in training mode.

3rdMIX AC back in 2000, followed by a couple of CS games that year and the next. I've been following BEMANI since then, though not so much playing at times (since the DDR machines in my city were later sold somewhere else, I had/have to rely on traveling to play arcade BEMANI titles).
