10 months agoMaxX_This establishment has had multiple issues with different DDR groups recently. Do not advise playing here unless:
-The female manager is not working, as she is the sole and completely consistent source of all issues.
-It is Monday and ONLY MONDAY. Any other day you will be drowned out by the house volume or any event going on regardless of who is working, and no volume increase will help this because they'll just keep upping theirs.
They do not look kindly on people going in to utilize this space as an arcade, despite the name/angle of the business, the presence of a venue fee and now a forced $2 bag check. You can tip, you can be courteous and accommodating to all other guests that want to play. You can be on handshaking, sharing smoking breaks outside terms with all the floor staff. If you are not buying food on top of this, you are overstaying your welcome after a couple of sets. The manager in question will raise the volume on the speaker directly over the cabinet, rendering it inaudible and therefore unplayable. If you dare ask for another increase and get it by her hand or someone else's, she will just increase theirs again.
This female manager has also set the machine from 3 songs + challenge enabled to final stage only with challenge disabled on many occasions over the months. She is clearly of the mind that we overstay our welcome and that sets in general are too long. So, message received. Can't hear anything, can't play anything, won't play anything.
Will never return pending a management and philosophy change. Rest of the staff is otherwise great, but having to play cat and mouse with management while being able to only really hear/use the machine one day out of the week when they happen to not be around is not worth venue fee + a $2 forced tax for bringing a pair of shorts and a towel in a bag.
This is all a shame because the pads are alright, though 1p down started giving very occasional pad misses as of a few weeks ago. I sincerely hope the DDR and Jubeat machines eventually find a more suitable home where they can be reasonably heard and played without unreasonable issues.
Regularly went for just over half a year but had enough. Will be checking out Tilt's Extreme machine as a replacement and report on that.

2 years agoexpandbananaBoth pads have been worked on and Extreme Clarity is installed via superdisc, probably need more work for PSMO level play but it's usable now
2 years agoLABcrabI'm hoping that DDR Extreme gets some TLC. It should be fairly easy to optimize the pads, and the arcade can either run DDR Extreme (a copy of the original) or DDR Extreme Clarity. Memory cards would also be sweet! DDR Megamix is not worth it. It usually runs OK, but it looks glitchy.
