Arkad Amusement is a new arcade brand in Montréal, which opened in 2022 on St. Catherine Street Ouest. (The Est location was only open for a few months in 2023, before closing.) It is near the former Amusement 2000 Plus arcade, but on the opposite side of the street. The closest metro station is Lucien-L'Allier, which is a 7-minute walk away. Although Arkad is similar to the previous arcade, it has no washrooms and Wi-Fi.To my understanding, Arkad has an agreement with Player One Amusement Group or P1AG, a Cineplex company.
Only Arkad cards work here. Pricing after tax is:
$1.15 for a new card (minimum $11.50 credit purchase required)
$11.50 for 40 credits
$23 for 100 credits
$34.49 for 200 credits
$57.49 for 340 credits
$113.83 for 800 credits (to reload one card)
Pump It Up XX is from the former Playdium Mississauga. It now shows up as an Arkad machine online.
Many games require 8 credits. Pump It Up XX requires 12 credits, which works out to $3.45/game after tax. Ouch! When buying 200 and 340 credits, however, the price is $2.07/game and $2.03/game, respectively. With 800 credits, it's down to a decent $1.71/game.

1 year agoLABcrabThat is sad to hear. I hope that any problems are solved and that Arkad is safe to visit. During my visit last month, this employee was not present.
As far as the arcade games go, they look like fun, but they are pricey! I don't think it's fair to pay $3.45/game on Pump It Up. I suggest people buy at least 200 credits if they want to play at a decent price.
2 years agoSomeoneThe technician/owner working there sexually harassed friends of mine when they were alone. He has light brown skin and wears glasses. If anyone reading this as experienced this, I encourage you to file a police report, as we have.
