Very surprised to find Jubeat and SDVX on the Gulf Coast! I'm visiting from Salt Lake and we have a Round 1 there so I'm a bit spoiled by that admittedly. It was still nice to stop in while I was down visiting family. 2 years agojc476

The DDR cab was on today and the panel was unlocked and wide open. I know I shouldn't be messing with stuff but I went ahead and lowered the volume to a reasonable level. Left arrow P2 side still busted. Machine still isn't set to free play but if it's on and you really want to play (and maybe break the rules), press the white button on the panel inside the cab to add credits (assuming its unlocked). 2 years agojc476
One of the best arcades Mobile has ever had, especially if you like rhythm games. You only pay $10 to get in and then all the machines are set to free play. This was posted on Sept. 5th of 2021 but I hope that improvements are still being made to machines that have issues.

The arcade has a little over 40 machines in total. 5 rhythm games, 5 racing games, 6 pinball machines, and great classics such as Pacman, Galaga, Smash TV, and a 3 in one cabinet of Centipede, Millipede, and Missile Command that use a track ball. The rest are shooting/gun games and fighters. There was also a 2 in one cab with Puzzle Bobble and something else but it either wasn't working or wasn't set to free play when I tried to use it. Some of the gun games, particularly the ones that use a mounted gun with some kind of analog(?) aiming system rather than the typical pickup NES Zapper style, aren't fully functional. Also, sorry to Time Crisis fans, but they don't have any as of now. They do have House of the Dead 2 which I think is a fairly popular one. Most of the games are fairly old with a few exceptions.

I will now provide you my autistic dissertation of all the rhythm games below.

Pump It Up Pro is almost in perfect working order except that the P1 platform can slide around a bit. Playing singles is fine but doubles is a different story. I cut out pieces of cardboard and shimmed them between the wall and the platform to reduce pad movement. This makes doubles playable, but still a little sketchy since the left platform can still barely shift to the side and then snap back in place due to the elasticity of the cardboard. I think the issue is that the left pad is still on its caster wheels so maybe the feet need to be lowered a bit more. An easier fix might be to just install the brackets that are supposed to keep the two pads together.

Another note is that the bar wobbles a bit on P1 side, so if you're playing alone and want to play singles with bar use, just use P2 side. If you're a serious PIU player, you should also know that these pads are the older style that has metal brackets on the corners of the panels. For me, this makes it harder to hit bracket notes (pressing 3 or more buttons at once with only your feet) but they're still doable.

There are a few other quirks to this machine. It's set to 2 songs per play which isn't a big deal, but it's a little weird to me. What really bothers me about PIU Pro is that the notes default to the "rhythm" skin instead of classic. This means that all downbeats are blue, upbeats are red, and etc. If you prefer the normal skin where up arrows are red, down arrows are blue, and center notes are yellow, then you need to hit the options button and change your skin to "classic."

The DDR machine is usually out of order, but it was on one day and was working okay but the panels take a bit of force to press and are recessed much more than I'd like, but I guess that's how it is with old DDR machines. The left arrow was also out on P2 side so single player only and no doubles mode (assuming the machine is even on). It's also WAYYY too loud compared to the other rhythm games.

Beatmania is in great condition and is at a fairly loud volume (good if you're the one playing it, but can drown out the sound of Jubeat and Sound Voltex since those machines are nearby).

Jubeat works flawlessly but the volume is a bit low. If you plan on going hard on Jubeat then you'll probably want to shop online for a Konami e-amusement pass, which is used to keep track of your scores and unlockables for various games (including Sound Voltex). The reason you'll want this pass is that the game forces you to play the tutorial if you don't log in with one. So without the pass, you have to sit through a boring-ass tutorial before playing your 3 songs.

Sound Voltex works flawlessly but also has the volume down too low. Thankfully this machine has a headphone jack so if you plan on playing it, I HIGHLY recommend bringing your own headphones. On the off chance that DDR is actually on, headphones are basically required to hear Sound Voltex. Volume level for headphones can be changed by using the 1 and 7 buttons on the keypad at the song selection screen.
