Québec tends to have dance machines in great or excellent condition because of the law that requires refunds and an "out of service" notice for defective machines. The only exception would be DDR X, which is more of a manufacturer's defect than the arcade's fault. 6 years agoemitoshiba

Yep okaeri, I did ask few questions on the facebook page. It turned out that the original was on the 3rd mix but once it booted, its was a burned copy of the 5th mix. I already burned the Extreme Pro cd, ready to be installed, but I'll try to find a way to revert back to 5th mix whenever I want, since there's few exclusive songs that I like to play. I must say i'm impressed that you figured that I was the guy on facebook buying that machine.

It was priced at 1500$ but it wasn't in good shape, and it's missing the top part with marquee speakers and lights. So I was able to make it 800$ after negociation. So far, I completely cleaned and modded P1 pad. I will probably change all the plexi arrows, they're worn as hell. Custom spacers being 3D printed atm and I just received my countersunk screws for the pads. Stepmania is not top priority but eventually I'll get to it. lovely!! how much did it cost? i've always wanted my own ddr cab but i have no space at all and they're all way too expensive, and i'm quite young and my parents wouldn't want me getting one anytime soon w but i hope you have lots of fun! 6 years agookaeri
Awesome! I'm assuming you are the person who bought a 3rd mix cabinet that needs some cleaning. If no one suggested it yet, I'd suggest you getting Extreme Pro installed. For stepmania, most people would recommend you the Simply Love theme. 6 years agoMisteurSam
Hey guys, I just bought an old DDR cab that was collecting dust in a warehouse for over 3 years. It's quite in good shape but it still needs repair and modding. I'm really excited as I never reasonably thought it would be possible to fit a cab in my garage. I will be able to install any mix from 1st to Extreme, eventually set up a stepmania PC with custom songs as well. So I'll work on it for the next weeks for sure and I'll let you know once it's ready, I'd be glad to share it with the community! 6 years agookaeri
i don't really know much about the business side but i feel like that won't be possible for a long time. something to do with profit or maybe how complicated it is for konami to make deals with non-arcade chain companies. 6 years agoemitoshiba

that's unfortunate. also i have bad news and good news about the new arcade that will open near Centre Laval. the bad news is that it's very unlikely that we'll have a new ddr machine, because of how business works (we need an arcade chain like dave and busters and round1 to have a eamuse deal). good news is we'll have a new PIU:XX cabinet, most likely the TX model which is more than great. and also a StepmaniaX cabinet. 6 years agoemitoshiba

unfortunately, i haven't seen anything yet. they asked for my email which i assumed was for responding, but i didn't recieve anything and its been weeks. i haven't played on it in a long time because i've been very sick, but considering this is a cinema there's probably unfortunately not much they can do. 6 years agoMisteurSam

is that so? that's very nice. i've been to amusement 2000 this summer, i wanted to play piu but one of the arrows were broken. i live near centre laval, so i hope there will be a new ddr cab there!
also, i went to the cinema yesterday again, and the arrows are getting worst. i left feedback on cineplex's official website. i hope they'll do something about the cab soon. 6 years agookaeri

the p1 right arrow has started to stick down a bit. i think it needs cleaning. there must be some gunk in between the arrow and the sensor, since everyone plays this thing with their filthy boots and the pads havent likely been cleaned since many years ago. 6 years agookaeri

you seem to have been quite lucky with the pads, usually when i go to play the pads are a bit weak and i often get pad misses. by left pad did you mean you were on the p1 side or that the 2 greats were on the left arrow? 6 years agookaeri
I went to play today with my family. I managed to almost AAA So Deep on Heavy with 2 greats on the left pad. It wasn't too crowded during that time so I could hear my footsteps and get decent timing. Not too bad. I haven't played on an EXTREME cabinet for years and it feels great. 6 years agoemitoshiba
i visited this place today. had a hard time setting up my card, but once everything worked fine i was at it for a good while. pads are a bit weird tho, but still playable. glad to know there's a ddr cab near me! 8 years agoSenketsu97
