Information
Wear a mask inside, mask wearing is enforced.Call them (212-964-1001) to verify hours/if they're open/status of a particular game before you go, to avoid wasting a trip.
Those of you remembering the old arcade, too bad...for better or worse, Chinatown Fair has shed a new skin in its style.
The arcade is a moderately narrow L-shaped area, but there's plenty of room for spectators. Multiple music games including DDR, Sound Voltex, and Pump It Up are featured. Other major games include Terminator Salvation.
No public restroom inside the arcade, you should go to some of the nearby cafes. Recommended `Silk Road Cafe` nearby (open and restroom available during COVID, last checked Jan 10 2021) or `Sweet Moment` cafe (open and restroom available during COVID, last checked March 31 2021), but you should buy something. There's also a restroom in Columbus Park, which is just a block away -- like any park public restroom, though, it can be a bit gross.
Air conditioner inside.
CTF uses a point system to play games, which are loaded onto cards. As base price, 4 points cost a dollar but they give bonuses on bulk purchases. As a result, the prices of each game is only approximate. As of October 2016, here are the options available:
$0.25 - 1 point
$1 - 4 points
$5 - 20 points
$10 - 40 points
$20 - 85 points (80 + 5 bonus)
$40 - 210 points (160 + 50 bonus)
$50 - 270 points (200 + 70 bonus)
$100 - 600 points (400 + 200 bonus)
There is also a variety of redemption and prize games. New games are announced on their Facebook page.

Price hike has happened, About everything has risen a credit, DDR A20's up button has been fixed, SDVx's Headphone Jack is almost fixed. I'll try to update pricing info when I go.

SDVX is on "Great" status but still has an undersensitive right knob?

For PIU players, Brain power is unlocked (checked April 5 2021)

Haven't seen ITG in here for a month. Safe to assume it's gone for good.

I tried to make the jubeat section as impartial as possible, but don't go if you want to play jubeat. Seriously. It's a fucking joke. Pay the tolls/transit fare and take the time to go to the Break. You will be MUCH better off.

According to MrOldGuy, it has been sold unexpectedly (to the surprise to the workers there). Probably gone for good

What happened to ITG?

I'd probably come here more often if it wasn't for the whole no bathroom thing.

I'd say PIU has no issues because the employees play it, and rarely for the other 2. The ITG machine's P2 was completely broken (they put a fan on top of it and a sign) last time I went, and I highly doubt it'll get fixed in a reasonable timeframe, as much as it pains me to say.

I didn't hang out too often at CTF during the fighting game era, but rhythm games wise I think we're at an OK spot. There used to be a PnM and IIDX, but we now have SDVX and Jubeat to make up for it. I just wish the ITG and DDR are properly tuned more often (PIU never has issues for some reason).

it was quite a clash to see how this place was, compared to the stories I had heard of how good it was in the old days. might as well just take the trek out to 8-on-the-break at this point

SDVX is not on official servers.

which discord are you talking about?
also, is SDVX on official servers or not?

which discord are you talking about?
also, is SDVX on official servers or not?

As far as I can tell, no, although obviously there is an admin, you would have to get into contact personally (he's on the nyc discord iirc)

ehhh, not really. i meant if there was a website i could check said scores on, since the other arcade i go to has something like that

you mean save scores on your card? If so, then yes

are you able to check scores with it, though...? or no, not yet

It's separate from the official servers, so, no, it's a couple patches behind

Does the DDR A (upgraded from 2013/2014) use the official Bemani servers, or does it use separate servers? I'm planning to add it to my site.

would it be possible to check my scores from the sound voltex cab? i was able to use my eamusement pass just fine, and other people ive seen play on it have customization stuff from what i know

YAY WE HAVE XX

YAY WE HAVE XX

it was already sold iirc

I’d totally purchase it if I had the $$$

@01angel I saw the popn cab on bemaniso.ws a couple days ago, it was facing the wall and looked really sad

I miss when this place had Pop'n Music...

Returned today, things are going quite well, pad-wise.

Keep in mind, my assessment may be very well inaccurate, considering I'm nowhere near as good as most of the regulars who play ITG here. Also, I was testing the pads out with strictly easy stuff, and only for 6 songs.

Assessment of ITG:
P1 -- Have to purposely step a tiny bit late.
P2 -- Except for slightly oversensensitive ⬇️ giving occasional Way Offs, pads are perfectly fine.
Pros: U.P.S. 2 & 3 packs added, volume is loud & clear. Song length for what counts as 1 stage extended to accommodate 3~ minute songs.
Cons: Only slight audio drown out if PIU is being played at the same time). Aforementioned pad discrepancies, albeit nothing severe as originally expected.

In regards to ITG:
So I heard that apparently there's starting to be a considerable problem with misfires into pad greats, that might be the reason. I'm not going to make the change myself since I haven't gone there (and I don't have plans to tbh) but just in case anyone else wanted something vaguely resembling info, here's a lead as to what might be the issue.
I'd be understandably frustrated if it was doing this as often as it would to justify a severe demotion in condition ratings.
Again this is speculation on my part, ymmv.

It's been like a year since I've been here but the ITG really got that bad?
What the heck happened...?

No Jubeat, no idea when they will have one.

ITG is back in action, everyone.

ITG is back in action, everyone.

Haven't played on it yet, but considering someone managed to score 100.00% on a 9 on it, with this computer screen monitor, I'm going to guess "no".

Question is, does it have display lag?

Not my picture, but here's what the situation currently looks like (minus the captions, obviously): https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewpicture.php?pictureid=46325

What type of monitor will it have?

ITG is currently in the process of having a new monitor purchased for it. In the meantime, a desktop computer screen is serving as a temporary replacement, sitting atop a table to the right of the cab itself.

My heart dropped when I saw it was vandalized but you just meant the &Knuckles thing.

That is hilarious

Also SDVX III has been slightly vandalized, it has a &Knuckles on the lower marquee. I lol'd when I saw this.

You can use an eamuse card on the machine and the game will go to the registration screen. It says it is connecting to candy rave, not eamuse, so I think this is some local server that CTF set up.

So wait can anyone confirm if SDVX has e-amuse because there is no alert saying that it can't be used.

LOL SDVX has an Initial D Marquee? I gotta check that out

So SDVX III was updated to the December 2016 version. They removed a racing game (I forgot the name) and also SDVX also has a Initial D marquee on top that's super random.

Some other great new packs include some condortalon's stuff, 9volt's stuff, and FA and chill. In the rumor mill is that the pads might get looked at in the near future, we shall see.

Sorry to hear about Pop'n.
But in any case, I am happy to announce that Warp's Wraps II, Sexuality Violation 3, and Dr. Vactaire's Thesis Vol. 1 have officially made it on ITG here. Merry (belated) Christmas & a Happy New Year to my fellow NY/NJ community (and everyone else too).

With the official removal of Pop'n from here, there are no /working/ Pop'n Music machines in New York anymore because Tri-County's is missing a button ;(;(;(;(

Ok, I was here today and Pop'n is gone, they added a few games like Quick Drop, some shooter game by Namco that is broken, and Pump it up is at Infinity for now. Also a lot of games moved locations so yeah.

hopeless

Should I be worried about my life if I actually enjoy those packs unironically?

enjoy your bloated unfun mungyodance and sssc for the steal of $2 a set

Status on ITG2 -- the person in charge of updating the machine with newer packs is no longer accepting submissions/suggestions, and will soon be traveling overseas. As such, do not expect the song pack inventory to change anymore. Thank you for your time.

I remember that the machine was turned on on Monday so it was turned off on Wednesday.

WerewolfRulez, then why does the page say it's in "great" condition? Turned off would make the condition "unknown". I fixed that.

Oh it says midnight my bad! Awesome, yeah I will see if I can stop in next week when I'm in town.

How late are they open weeknights? Might possibly come by on Wednesday, if not probably on the 19th. Been too long.

01angel, I went here yesterday and it was turned off, if I had to guess they were getting ready for the guy to pick up the machine

Pop'n Music is back here? Hooray!

Once again the timer for DDR 2015 has been increased from 70 to 80.

Welp, so much for seeing any new packs ever finding their way onto ITG...

CTF DDR 2015 has been updated, it now has a 70 second timer, but it makes me question, why the hell did they even increase it by 10 seconds?

Jubeat is a fair exchange as we still have Pop'n at Tricounty. 8otb is much more of a pain for me to get to, I am so excited CTF will have Jubeat!

OMG ARCADE JUBEAT SO CLOSE BY?! YEEEEEEEEEEESSS!!!

Woah, seriously? That might just be a good exchange after all! I've never had the opportunity to play the series on an arcade machine before.

According to CTF, the Jubeat that will take the place of Pop'n will be be JuBeat Prop

Fixed the prices too, they were reverted, I think voltex was 5.7 but I don't remember, ymmv on what you do with that info.
Also no way is the ITG perfect lol, I wish.

Pop'n is still there but off, unsure if it's broken or headed out - also no clown sightings.

Thanks, WerewolfRulez!! (|[*'v'*]|)

the popn machine had garbage lag so I mean

Maybe, they did say they were going to get Jubeat but I don't know wether or not it will get rid of Pop'n Music. Ill be here on Sunday so ill see if its there.

Have they gotten rid of Pop'n Music? I may be going here on Monday, and it would break my little heart to see Pop'n gone!

Updated a few things.

Updated a few things.

Price on ITG has recently been lowered, but so has the menu timer, and the cutoff for how a song can be before it counts as two or three stages. Also, some racing games have been placed between ITG, and PIU, thus fixing background noise issues while playing ITG.

F

F

Made some more changes, not 100% on whether the other racing game is inital D 7, and I think the 3rd is speed driver?

Welcome to the site, BadPineapple! Your work in this page is appreciated greatly!

Hi, I'm new to this site but I'm slowly working on updating the game list and prices here. Hope you guys can help contribute, I don't visit CTF too often.

Yep coming in spring! I need to start checking out hicksville's mall to see if construction started

It's coming in Spring 2017, riiiight? (|[*'w'*]|)
That's right around the corner! SO excited!

Yeah so excited for Round 1 coming.

Luckily, the Broadway Mall in Hicksville where NY's first Round 1 location is set to be just so happens to be a 10 minute bus ride from my college. *yay*

That's disappointing. Better than shoving it in a warehouse 'till a round 1 appears, I guess.

Better than having it dumped into the graveyard I call Rack & Roll.

I heard IIDX has already been sold to a private owner and therefore won't be resurfacing.

Think i saw Initial D is now the 8th version too but I haven't been able to mak it ovr.

RIP IIDX but yay Groove Coaster I do like that game.

SDVX is still here too!

Awww. I still have money on my ctf cards. Can't believe they have 3 dance games, but IIDX got no love...

Well, IIDX might be gone...but I'm glad Pop'n hasn't gone yet

Just a heads up for anyone playing IIDX, one swipe will get you 3 credits/rounds.

Guess what? I'm going here tomorrow to play some IIDX and Pop'n before they're gone! Also, I'm trying out SDVX for the first time!

Something need to be done about how loud PIU gets, compared to ITG.

I can confirm that SDVX 3 is there.

I'll be at CTF today so i'll see if SDVX 3 is there.

Its there sdvx 3

Something, something, Chinatown Fair Conspiracy, something, something, circular reasoning, something, something, Idiocracy...

My question is, why would they downgrade it to an earlier version when Tokyo Attack proved you can run it offline?

I've heard elsewhere that it has SDVX 3 from a good source but they installed it after I went so I can't confirm

For now ill put it as SDVX 2 until someone can confirm that it is real.

You might want to be careful, and make sure it's not a fake/$#!+ post...given the guy who originally downgraded it to SDVX2 upon it's arrival, then pulled an April Fool's prank pretending to have upgraded it back.

Whoa, awesome!!! Makes me even more pumped to head here!!!

Sound Voltex is now a Sound Voltex 3 according to their Facebook page,

Couldn't get the volume to increase on the headphone jack on sound voltex. Not sure if it was me but I kept pushing 7

Because IIDX and now Pop'n are BOTH not working at Tri-County, I can assure that I'll definitely be going here before the IIDX and Pop'n here go away to Rack N Roll!

In my opinion I think Konami will make them get the newer cabinet with English stickers and not Japanese since they imported it but still they could just upgrade it. But who knows, only time will tell.

I am not sure where they are going but it sounds like another arcade that the person owns. I did hear that CTF will get DDR A but I am not 100%. I think since they have the white cabinet it's a simple upgrade.

Is it true CTF is gonna get DDR A? Thats one of the rumors thats going around rn.

prince_david told me they going to move them into another arcade that the person owns, but he didn't specify where.

Oh no!!! Do you know where they'll be going?

WHAT?! Pop'n is leaving too?! That's awful

Yep, double checked, iidx is sadly leaving. Possibly popn as well. It's good we're getting the new stuff to make up for it though. FYI for itg players: pads seem a bit better, I think they were looked at because helblinde 2016, shrapnel 3, bemanibeats 3 were added.

lol, yup.

I heard CTF may be getting rid of IIDX soon. Is that true?

@Werewolf: It is, I saw someone play it.

Also does anyone know if bad apple is in the DDR machine?

Oh god I typed "over" didn't I, from what you're saying (and I agree, the ups need some help, and on that note, probably the lefts too) it should note that they are undersensitive right now.
Someone was saying 2p right was misfiring but I can't confirm/deny until I go back (this weekend probably?)
Also aside, tj, were you the guy who warmed up with watercolor a few weeks ago?

warpdr!ve, the pads on ITG2 are totally not under-sensitive lol. If anything, the up arrows need to be more sensitive

3 new games will be added soon to ctf, Groove Coaster, Initial D 8, Elevator Action and Super Shot Basketball

If memory serves, they do indeed have USB ports and they were definitely working when they had Fiesta EX and present when Infinity was first added.

Anyone knows if the PIU has USB support?

Aaaand we're infinity! I don't want to change the description since apparently it's only for this weekend. From what I heard there are some performance and bug fixes but I didn't see a whole lot new. However it was installing another update as I was leaving so who knows what that could be.

As of this point, still Prime.

Clearly we need bad apple in infinity too, it's not in enough dance games. (When/if we get the patch I'll make a note here/change the entry for a week). Thanks for the info!

~Baby, I heard it through the grapevine~ that two songs you guys got (Redline and Kill Them (DJS Remix)) had licensing complications and needed to be replaced. Please let me know what they're replaced with; it's cool info!

I've confirmed that we are indeed a test location for Infinity - we're probably getting another 1.10 build in the near future due to some changes that needed to be made (not sure of what exactly but I suppose we'll find out).

Pop'n is alright, however sometimes the left speaker gives in during louder parts of songs .-. nothing too game breaking

How was Pop'n?

I was there last weekend. Sound Voltex was fun but the D button would sometimes flicker. The DDR extreme machine on player 1 gave me trouble on the left button. DDR 2013 was fantastic and perfect. Beatmania IIDX was great as well and so was Initial D

When you say that DDR Addict, I think we might be part of some form of QA, that would explain why we only have it for a week or two.
Don't know a ton about Pump tbh but what you're saying makes sense with what I'm seeing - I'm about 95% certain it was 1.10. I only got to play one round, a bunch of people were taking it up (again maybe because of QA).

Actually no, it is the latest American game in the series. It was released in 2013, and there have been several international mixes later, but the game is still getting development and patches, mainly because said patches have been going through corporate purgatory from what I've heard (the main Andamiro branch has to QA the patches before they get released, and, again, from what I've heard, they tend to wait a fair while to actually do it)

Isn't infinity an older game in the franchise o.O

Pump it Up Infinity; that detail was just added to the description.

1.10 patch? for what?

Wait one minute: is Chinatown Fair acting as loc test for the 1.10 patch? It's not out publicly as far as I know.

Accidentally deleted the ITG entry for a minute, oops.

ITG2 Dedicab is starting to lag whenever two people are playing.

OMG YAY! About both!

Pop'n is back up..and They have pendual now since japan upgraded to copula

Sorry for posting the same comment twice. I'm a bit new to the site so I was having a little trouble and I didn't realize I commented the same thing twice.

I agree with unhappyrefrain on this...

I agree with unhappyrefrain on this...

nnnnooooooooo oh my god why...

Well Its not physically gone... its just sortve.. there.. Apparently they lost the remote for the monitor or something of that sorts so... its basically dead for now

did they really remove pop'n holy shit

It's II, he downgraded it.

If it was SDVX III at Nanuet, should it not be SDVX III down here as well?

What is it supposed to be? (Make up your mind, please?)

why did you change it back to SDVX III, ivan downgraded it to II like a retard

R.i.p pop'n players

Should be there,.... based on their facebook page. Ill see tomorrow

Any idea when Nanuet's ITG2 machine will be showing up? (Protip: Keep Fail TURNED OFF when you get it up & running)

I think they removed pop'n altogether... lol But.. Ill check tommorow and see

nanuet migrant here, anyone know if/when they're gonna update pop'n to sunny park? i don't... really wanna go back to fantasia after all this

I can't wait for all the machines to go to shit because I swear no one ever keeps any machine there working for long

Oh nevermind

:O HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!

SDVX 3, ITG 2, and DDR 2014 are coming from Nanuet soon. http://i.imgur.com/IhTaOyD.png

Since i updated it i might as well do , As for SPADA i honestly have no idea how it works but it does, it somehow manages to skip all the e-Amuse bs and get straight to mode select (Maybe its cracked?,Because as far as i can tell its not connected to any BEMANI networks). As for PIU other than some dropping of holds(Very rare) and lack of extreme sensitivity on one of the p1 pads(right blue) its pretty good , still able to do 20's +

Can someone both explain how SPADA's back and clarify if the pad problems the PIU had when it was Infinity are still present as a Prime?

1P left on ITG is not working as of writing.

Fair enough. Thanks!

DDR Extreme is back up and running. I simply just did not care enough to play on it to find out how the pads are. My sincerest apologies for that.

Has DDR Extreme really not been turned on since I put that comment on? It's got to have been at least six months since I put that there.

I haven't been here before but I plan to make a trip sometime in June.

It's pretty alright, most machines are in good shape.. them prices tho

I'm never going back here again. Not worth my time, money, or stress. See y'all in Nanuet...

I would bet some of the UMU isn't available though honestly I'm not 100% sure (as I haven't been keeping up with things very well).
Extra attack is not available without eamuse, you could always put the songs on USB and play ITG but regardless it's annoying.

Out of curiosity, how much content got added with the 2014 update for those without eAmuse? Last time I went (this summer), non-card players could play essentially every single chart including the TAG birthday, Gakuen, and Stadium stuff with the exception of anything relating to the eAmuse level ups. So, is none of the Extra Attack stuff available, and is the game up to date with all the UMU songs?

Eeyup, and tomorrow and a few times next week are in the cards.

Did you go today?

So, I finally went, and I have to say it was overall quite enjoyable! Let's see if I can remember all the things:
-First I tried out the Infinity. Good grief the load times were atrocious! I imagine a newcomer would think the game had crashed, especially on the very first screen. The game itself was still fun though; I played 2 nonconsecutive rounds and the new charts seemed fine. One thing I'll need to let the Infinity devs know somehow though is that the Run to You BGA is very off time, but that's basically nitpicking. A little less nitpicky though is that, playing Classic mode, it seemed a little easy to trigger Bads. This might've been pad-related or timing-related, but I guess I'll judge in a few days if I play Pro mode.
-I then had a go at the Sunny Park. Now, I didn't get an eAmuse card or anything, so I have to admit the menus were very confusing. I ended up accidentally going for the Random 30 instead of the Level 30 folder most notably. Still, I found myself getting quite acclimated to the buttons, and by the end I was able to pass stuff like Mynarco -Hyper-.
-IIDX definitely gave off the air of hardcoreness. There were 2 players in consistent rotation playing Another charts, though they were very helpful! (If any of you were one of those two, hi!) The timing seemed a tad early, but it was very manageable. I ended up passing a few Normal 6s, though Hyper seems off limits for me for now.
-The DanceDanceRevolution was just wonderful. Having no eAmuse, the majority of the selection was still there, including TAG birthday stuff and Maware, so that was a pleasant surprise. The timing was strict, but I still managed a few AAs. Finally executing Maware's spins was just a complete thrill!
In these next few days, I'll get the opportunity to go some more, possibly even tomorrow! (though my buttocks are suggesting to me to focus on SP and IIDX

No Guitar Freaks either.

Upon seeing the Drummania delisted, is Guitar Freaks still there, and is there a planned replacement for the Drummania? Just curious.

"They" as in who?

Last I checked CTF is not getting Paseli support. they don't want it.

A bit of following up from earlier - DDR is a bit behind - it has the old interface but a decent chunk of the newer songs, with eamuse but no Paseli. Default extra stage is currently Saber Wing Sillouette remix.
I think IIDX is fairly up to date was well, though I don't know much about it. Apparently rerave+ has some extra songs on top of the licenses, bringing the new song total to about 20 according to the marketing materials.
Hopefully this helps.

Going down here today. Anyone else up for some CTF?

I can help with some of that - if I can stop in later this week I can answer the rest.
I know Pump is Infinity still and 1.05, and that DDR is a bit behind - I'm pretty sure there's no Paseli so there would be no extra attack stuff. I did see Re-verse as one of the new extra stages so that's about as far as it goes.
Apparently Drummania is doing pretty well from what I see of other people but I don't actually play so maybe I'm not the best person to ask.
Rerave+ is rarely ever that crowded so you can probably plan spur of the moment whether you want to play any extra games - I'm not sure about the songlist but from the one time I played it there's an extra difficulty and an announcer.
Maybe I can expand on this soon but for now that's all I've got haha.

So, in about 2-4 weeks time, I'll be around to this location. Just a few questions:
-Is the PIU still an Infinity, and has it at least been updated to 1.05?
-Does the DDR have the 2014 update? (Not that it really matters since it didn't really add anything for people who can't get to the extra stage)
-How well does the Drummania work?
-Are RERAVE plus' only new additions the 10 licenses? I mean, it's not bad since we get Eurobeat and Captain Jack, but I want to plan in advance somewhat whether I'll be playing only 1 round.
-Are the BEMANI games fully unlocked, thereby reducing the necessity of eAmuse?
Needless to say, I am SO EXCITED to finally come here after two years!

@~JRS~: they haven't sold e-AMUSE cards for a while now.
@NuVirus: You referring to Leo?

And ITG2s pads aren't even being worked on. Where on Earth is Dustin when you need him? Damn you Henry...

I'm honestly getting kinda annoyed with the staff here. They remove Rebirth 2, KOTC 6, and the Tachyon packs. They don't know what they're doing when the machine crashes. You practically gotta beg for your money back something crashes. And, according to them, the bathrooms are closed.
They seriously ought to bring back that other guy with the glasses to work there more often. The female working there isn't exactly my favorite...

what a random selection of packs this machine is getting, lol

Here's a little update for ITG2:
P1 - Up arrow is becoming worse, but not so bad as to preventing passes.
P2 - Cannot pass anything above Easy; right arrow is horrendously bad.
D.O.W.N.S. 1-4, Valex's packs, Tachyon Alpha/Beta, ITG Rebirth 1 & 2, Kings Of The Coast 6, and a Misc (assorted simfiles) folder are the packs hacked onto the machine. D.O.W.N.S. 4 is best avoided, as the machine will crash from foreground simfiles. KOTC 6 is apparently corrupted, as attempting to play anything from that folder will simply result in playing a blank chart.
As for the Tachyon packs, playing Impulse (Hard 14), and Brainfog (Expert 14) resulted in crashing the machine. Yet, playing Axle Grinder (Expert 15 -- from a different folder) did nothing to bother the machine.
With all of that taken into consideration, I'm currently hypothesizing that playing anything that requires stepping anything above 900 BPM (24ths @ 150, 16ths @ 240, etc;) may be a potential cause of a machine crash. This could just be a coincidence between two of my own recent gameplay, but anyone wishing to attempt any other simfiles with above criteria to test this hypothesis is more than welcome to do so.

Does anyone know if they are still selling eAmusement Cards? I plan to buy one for use in DDR 2013 and SPADA.

BTW, the up arrow on P1 is STILL not cooperating with me fully. It's not as bad as before, but I'm still experiencing problems with it, especially once I was getting lazy during songs after wasting everything I could've on two failed 14s & a forced pass on that draining 12.

On another note, I attempted Impulse too. Died just measures shy of the 60 BPM slowdown... (that first 240 BPM death run is just too long for me)
In short, I guess I'm probably as rusty as an old NYC Subway car, after not playing ITG for months (thanks to college life). Over the past four months, I would only occasionally play DDR X at D & B ONLY if there was an abandoned credit on the machine. Other than that, I was pretty much on a hiatus.

I'm SO happy they have Tachyon Alpha AND Tachyon Beta on there.
For whatever reason, fate decided to compel me to play Brainfog on FIRST STAGE (it was a free credit), on DDR pads, and get past ALL of the footswitch sections, just to fail in the last section of 24ths... :\
But I KNOW I'm improving. And to justify it, I'm about to upload a YouTube video of me passing an old-gen custom 12 I never expected to pass today.
As for the "no steps" issue, I ended up experiencing the EXACT same problem with Tiza's "Pac-Man Ghost Mix," which showed up in the Misc folder as "Run PAC-MAN Run!!!". Different title, different banner, but same steps (supposedly).
I also had no idea that there were even foreground simfiles on the machine to begin with...

I don't know but every foreground chart I have tried besides Bad Apple has crashed it so far. Also, the Nicki Minaj song has no steps despite the selection screen saying it does.
It seems to catch itself in a boot loop until eventually it escapes (~10 minutes).

whose idea was it to put DOWNS 1-4 on this machine? I guarantee there are at least a few songs that will occasionally crash an upgrade cab

Somebody answer my question about Percussion Freaks, I don't live there so I have no way of checking and it's bugging me.

@Nuvirus: But customs still aren't enabled as far as I know, so that shouldn't make a difference anyway. (That may have changed from when tj went though.)

I see...you should probably put the USB tip part in the description then...

There isn't. Just my opinion/assumption based on playing officials
You can be sneaky and plug in your USB in the back though, lol

*sees description for ITG2* There aren't any hacked songpacks or USBs enabled on the machine right now, so just HOW could there possibly be anything above a block rating of 13 on it?

The DM was absolutely a Percussion Freaks last week. Did that actually change , or is somebody being weird.

Oh good, I made that mistake again. Is there an 'unlink picture' option that I don't know about?

No, I'm going on Sunday. 8otb isn't great either, fyi. Well, the break steaks are delicious, but the ITG isn't good. The rest of the games are okay, but I really want a good ITG.

@warpdr!ve To you it's terrible. You've got 8 On The Break AND that other place you go to, on that side of the river. On my side of the river, I've got nothing else to work with. Are you still going on Saturday?

@NuVirus: When Sportime is preferable, that's pretty terrible haha. Good thing the infinity is in good shape.

Quite honestly, I don't think I've ever played anything so difficult on PIU Infinity after having recently attempted Dawgs In The House (17) -- those crossovers were so uncomfortable, especially at 158 BPM. Managed a pass on it, but still...

So much for ITG2 making it's return to CF...

THIS MACHINE SUCKS! Why? Because it's CHINA-town Fair, the pads gotta be cheap & bootleg too? Unbelievable...
I'm sticking to Sportime USA for now. That's all the ITG I'll ever need to pass more 14s...

Let me know what's there, and if it's good, I can make this or next weekend.
Best of luck with the passes!

Can you go tomorrow? That's when me and Mr Grimm are showing up. Time for me to pass 14s & 15s!

Wait, they emailed you? Did you put an email on one of the suggestion slips?
I think I may have to plan a trip pronto then - if it's r21 or has a good variety of footspeed charts, I'll be in heaven. Gotta get them to add the speedcore packs lol.

*wakes up* OMG YOU GUYS, YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT I JUST GOT IN AN EMAIL SENT TO ME FROM CTF! ITG2 IS BACK! BLARGH! *spazzes out like crazy*

@nuvirus The manager gave the proof. And more Bemani games are suppose to be Guitarfreaks and Drummania. If you guys could, add Pop'n Music Sunny Park. They have it, and it's right where the entrance is.

Awesome place went last night for the first time. Arcade heaven.

ITG is still coming. And even more Bemani games!

Bad news everyone: I found out from Brian (NBAR) about a month ago (I didn't feel like announcing it until now), that Dustin was fired. There's goes our one chance to bring ITG2 back to Chinatown Fair (I hate you so much, Next Level).

I have no idea either of how these machines are doing i was there like 2 months ago :/ and i wont be back like in 5 more months , so please someone update the state of the machines.

Somebody should update the machines in this page again; I can't since I don't know how well these machines are working so far:
beatmaniaIIDX 20: tricoro
Some pop'n music machine
Several fighting games

It's subtle. Try to PFC one of the heavy 5s or 6s and you'll probably pick up more greats than you'd expect.
Maybe they fixed it though, that would be cool.

I didn't see any lag on DDR Extreme...I'm actually going there today since my family wants to go to Chinatown (lucky me).

Well of course you would beat me in pump. I think a random person on here would have a 90% chance, and this is a DDR forum. That's like saying you could beat a sleeping person at pump; not much of an accomplishment.
I found P1 to be even worse than P2, and there was almost certainly some lag to boot. It's playable, sure, but if you ever try to go for a PFC, even on the easier songs, the problems will become far more evident.

The pads on the extreme aren't even good anyway, I wouldn't want ITG on that - I couldn't even imagine beating a 13+ on it.
Infinity's cool though, even though I suck at pump.

Yayz, I'm back in NY now. I'm going back here right away.

I believe e-Amusement cards are like $10 if I recall correctly...I believe they still sell them down there.

I might be heading here in a few weeks, and I just want to ask: if they still sell, how much are those e-amuse cards?

I didn't get to see him. That does remind me, I need to ask him about the customs situation.

Yesterday, as of this post.

Apparently, the upgraded DDR USA -> Extreme is to be dual-booting ITG2 in the near future. Right now it's off. More info to come when the machine's up again.

Oh, and Eamuse is HOT

NOW they changed it back to 3 songs, and it's 5.5 credits now. Yay.

Does that mean you can't get the extra stage anymore because you need the 9 stars?
At this point it doesn't seem worth it at all, if that's the case. A shame, really.

For 2 songs, it went down a little for 5.3 credits. Why can't they just make it 5.3 and three songs? :/

@NuVirus: At Sportime, silly.

@TsukiyoX: See, the funny thing is, I already happily pay about ~$1.60 to play 4 stage r21, so the price itself isn't the detraction, at least to me, but rather the greediness, like you said. Raising the price twice in a week is kind of silly, and who is to say they won't raise it again? Maybe a Peter Pan tournament sequel would be better. *cough*
And r21 is r21, anyway.

DDR X3 is 6.5 credits now. Bad. I would boycott since owner of CF is getting greedy. Also, Pump it Up has been around 6.something credits as well AND it does NOT have 4 stages.

@Yurie On Saturday. Hopefully the pads will be in perfect shape by then. You gotta go to Full Mode on PIU, then hit left, right, left, right, left, right or something like that, to bring up the mod screen. Unlike DDR, it won't be the "final decision", so even if you bring it up, you can still select your song.

It's good enough for a person like me to get AAs and Full Combos...
@TsukiyoX
You gotta tell me what the "Reverse" and "Dark" mods are called on Pump it Up Fiesta... I seriously want to start learning that game.

Well at 5.4 it's still under $1 a game at the $10 rate in the description up there, so that still seems fine. And "good" isn't half bad, so now it's time for the waiting game, I guess.
Thanks for the constant updates.

Yeah, it's not 4.7 credits anymore. The owner immediately changed it to 5.4. Also, the pads will be optimized in the very near future. Right now it's alright.

Hey guys! DDR X3 vs 2nd Mix now OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE and UP AND RUNNING. It will be 4.7 credits to play. I'm guessing that's 1.04 dollars. Going there now to make MY ASSESSMENTS of the pads. Of course obviously, after I put in what I think is the pad condition, please check for yourself and adjust accordingly to what you think the conditions are :p

My old one got retired because what's-her-face who got banned from PPG spit in it. So now I've got something even sillier.
Speaking of, I need to work on my clapping. My gosh, you're right, the memories are amazing.
@NuVirus: If it is anything like last time, you would have done better than that. (And you will not need to make gimmick charts this time lol.)

@NuVirus Noooo, don't think like that!

Hopefully, there's a tournament. That way, I can place dead last...again... -_-

OMG Memories! lol

Actually, maybe I shouldn't wish for the rematch part so I have a shot at winning.

@warpdr!ve Lmao will do xD

Tournament(s)? Do want, keep me posted. I need my rematch with Spencer (so I can lose again and get 2nd lol).

They are pictures from Carey. He doesn't want anyone to come over there and look at it because he doesn't want any distractions :p.

I came so hard, my pants flew off.
OOOP, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF WORK TO PLAY.
*Packs sneakers into school bag*
Tsukiyo, are you over there? Or did you just take a bunch of pictures from Carey and upped it here?

@Nuvirus Plain and simple, Japanese cabs are always superior.
And one more thing: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/70450010101860863980486.jpg/

@MrGrimm I'll let you know, defs

It's definitely a Japanese cabinet, imported. Initially DDR X. Got upgraded immediately, today.

What would the difference be between the two cabinets?

Let us know (on here) when a DDRX3 tournament is gonna happen. If I don't have work, then I might enter

2. Let me know if it's a japanese cabinet or a U.S cabinet.

Lmao you edited it? Haha :p
What I like about the new CF is that they hold tournaments for ReRave and PIU. They would definitely do it for DDR, but at least after a month of it being in the arcade.

@Grim
I'm sure they'll have an X3 Tournament because they held a Tekken Tag Team Tourney today a few days after the machine arrived. I would say it's like an "inauguration" hahaha.
@TsukiyoX
WHOOOOOOOOOOOPS! I got too excited so I jumped the gun with editing this page. If Carey manages to get the machine up and running by Thursday, I'll stop by after work.
But hey, at least I got the hype ball rolling right?

@NuVirus
Better than getting my ass to PPG; CF is like twenty minutes away from my house.

TsukiyoX, some of us were wondering if there ever will be a DDRX3 tournament in the future? I know the DDRX3 machine didn't come in yet, but I was just wondering.

Thank God is an easy place to get to haha

Looks like I'm going as well. CF is very easy for me to get to, even if it is by train.

This is a pleasant surprise. Now I have another trip to make lol.

Too F-ing soon :p. But now that you put it up for the hype, here's my official event page for all NY (and beyond) DDR players:
https://www.facebook.com/events/369131083181112/

About time this place got a DDRX3 machine. Next time I'm down in Manhattan, I'm gonna try this

I did the math real quick, and adjusted the prices accordingly.
$1 will normally get you 4 credits, but with $10 you get 5 more.
1 credit = 22.22 cents.

Him? Didn't he get banned from the old CF at some point? And, who would post a picture of themselves on the toilet in an ITG machine for the whole wide world to see? If he can't even take the game seriously, then why should he hack the machine? If anything, the guy who hacked Coney Island's ITG2 machine in the El Dorado arcade should be the one to hack this "new" machine.

Ivan

This certain someone, do you know who that is?

Most likely if a certain someone finishes putting songs in it.

I heard the New Chinatown Fair is getting a new ITG2 machine. Is it true?

Thumbs down to the person who said in an online article that this place is a watered down Dave & Busters. If it was a watered down D & B like he said, the PIU machine's pads would be in a very bad state by now.

I thought this place was awesome; I have no idea why you guys don't like it! It's not as crowded as D&B, so it doesn't hurt your ears and allows for a focused experience.
I also forgot to mention that Fiesta EX has no Stage Break on any stage. That's even more awesome!

I did not think I needed to say something before, but I think at this point I should, before some of us totally lose it. Quite honestly, if some people who have checked out the new arcade do not seem to be satisfied with the fact that it is nothing like the former CF (and I have seen the online articles on this new arcade and how it frequently mentions how all the people from the old CF are reacting this way as of now), then they should simply stick with NL, because that IS where the old CF went. It's not like the old CF is going to make an exact copy of itself and end up in the new CF. They already have NL. Why waste time & stress raging at this new CF?

The new CF uses cards

If I remember correctly, they went by tokens, so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept that going. Again, I could be wrong and it could actually be quarters instead.

Pump It Up? Yeah, I guess you're right about the Dave & Busters part.
Do they go by cards, quarters, or tokens?

I believe one of the Pump It Up games is in there. I'm not sure exactly which version, though. (I wanna say FIESTA)

I see. So I'm guessing there's redemption games in the new arcade?
Any dancing game machines?

Apparently it has reopened........and the change is SO drastic to the point that if you enjoyed it in its original form, you will NOT like it now. It looks like a watered-down version of Dave & Buster's now.

I heard there's a new Chinatown Fair Arcade that opened up recently here. Anybody been there yet?

Best Arcade for Fighters with Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XII, Melty Blood: Actress Again, Guilty Gear XX2 Accent Core, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, BlazeBlue: Colamity Trigger, Rumble Fish 2, Samurai Showdown 5 & Marvel Vs Capcom 2. ITG 2 his hacked r21 cabinet. DJ Max Technika & Guitar Hero are brand new machines. Rumors are flying around about Initial D Arcade Stage 5, Dance Dance Revolution X & Tatsunoko vs Capcom maybe coming to this arcade, but don't get your hopes up. Otherwise, Good Arcade!

Isn't the SuperNOVA $1.50 for 3 songs?

No ETA on fix, plays fine for doubles, slightly annoying but still ok for singles so for singles use P1. Last checked March 31 2021. Stage break is off (for all songs in set, you need to hit 51 miss to fail out). Sound is slightly lower than DDR and that can get annoying. Brain power fully unlocked.".
