Considering that it's possible to record arcade gameplay straight from the machine (at least based on delaywailing's youtube), has anyone actually recorded the characters dancing in the background?
I believe that half of the characters are in DDR II for the Wii, except there's still only one dancer even in versus play and it's only half of them.

I'm doing this for my own machine now using PCSX2 and DDRX (having more character options than X2 somehow). Since it's for me personally, I am throwing efficiency to the wind and making them fairly large, high quality, and widescreen (they just happen to turn out that way after cropping out the gui elements, I never did work out how to get rid of them using the cheat finder unfortunately):

If there is earnest interest in these things, I could distribute them somehow, maybe make an LQ set or something if that is desired as well.

I've done Emi 1 and Yuni 3 in each of the stages so far, I'll upload them somewhere when I get the chance. To clarify exactly what I'm doing, they're captured from PCXS2 in 1024x768 60fps uncompressed AVI with the internal rendering set to 2048x2048, then cropped to 1024x596 (enough to get rid of most gui elements, not really looking to conform exactly to an HD res or anything, it's working just fine for me), and compressed with xvid single pass (I'm lazy, SM5 really did not like trying to render x264). My video's not so great since I took it with my phone, but it looks excellent for what I'm doing. Here's one of them as an example so you can see what I've got here:

If anyone far more skilled with video encoding than I can give me some pointers on how I can keep it looking nice like this and getting the filesize down, I'm open to suggestions.

Hold on a sec. Are all of these from the console versions? I guess this means that no one has the DDR X2 Arcade costumes yet.
I just thought if someone would post character previews from DDR X2 Arcade since it's possible to record straight from the arcade (with what???) except no one has done it yet.
And it would be better if two characters are dancing in the background.

If you know someone with behind the machine access to an X2 that can be arsed to do something like this, neat. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy making these, there are a lot of character/costume options in PS2 X1
Here's the HQ Emi and Yuni 3 stuff I did. Anything else is coming when I get around to it. Have fun!

Can I please have one of Zero... and everybody? ....
... or really, just Zero/any Alice in the crystal stage, and Zero/X outfit Rage in anything but the cake stage. xP I dunno if you want to fish out X2, but somehow the street stage turns red when you play the song DDR, and that would look really cool with those dudes.
Man... I tried running PSCX2 one my computer one time for DDR X2... it lagged so badly that it was scary... xD;;

The nicest thing about doing this is it doesn't matter HOW much PCSX2 lags; it still records the video at the appropriate frame rate. All it really needs to do is catch every one. It takes me about 6-8 minutes to record one of these uncompressed with the settings I use because it runs at like 20 fps hahah, but the end result is still 60 fps. As long as it catches all them frames, it works out lovely.

I'm on a trip at the moment (in a car en route to my destination now actually) so I won't be doing any of this terribly soon. When I have more, they'll be right here.
But yeah gene, Afro is definitely on my to do list, and I can probably be arsed to do Rage also.
