DDR 2010 Work Thread

Since you are the moderator to this BETA category, better to have us informed on how should the simfiles be made especially:
- the audio format (mp3 or ogg);
- the sm file coding format (SM3.9 varieties or SM4/sm-scc format, since not everyone uses the same editor)
- the official CDTITLE tag

EDIT: i remove my simfile post because it need to be updated. I will upload them again (unless if somebody can able to submit them) if my simfile works meet your standards.

The audio format must be in mp3 format.*
The coding format must be in .sm format.
Use the following for the cd title tag:

#CDTITLE:./CDTITLESDanceDanceRevolution 2010.PNG;

* = people like options, so if you have the ogg format, upload the original zip file with the mp3 audio, and use the custom zip file slot for the ogg file.

What IS the file?

@silenttype: about submitting sm files, how should the contents can display, the one generated from SM3.9 PLUS REDUX editor (simple format) or the other generated from SM4 or sm-ssc (advanced format)?
Btw, i just completed S-EXPERT of Curry Up by OR-IF-IS and DOUBLE TORNARD by evo-X... will upload them together with the rest of my other files. In progress, Wicked Plastik and Win The Game S-EXPERT.

The way I see it, it doesn't matter if the audio is mp3 or ogg right now since we're not using "final" audio. The point is to get the steps down, no?

Although, I do keep my stepmania cuts in lossless so I can re-upload Ke$ha's Animal as a 320kbps mp3.


Is the chart different from HOTTEST PARTY JP? I thought it was the same.

edit 2: What to do about banner/background? I'm using a theme with album art instead of banners but I'm sure no one else is.. should we just do like Universe 3?

Curry Up is an 8, Double Tornard is also an 8, Wicked Plastik is a 9, and Win The Game is a 7. (The game database is still accessible on the mobile site, for the record.)

If the game is like HOTTEST PARTY 3, I'd wager it'd be a "\sound\*.brsar" file that's a couple hundred MBs large.
(although, if so the Wii files would only be 32khz so I'd hope the PS3's files would be higher quality)

I'll upload a zip of the songs already stepped ASAP, and then a 2nd (much larger) zip of the songs which haven't been stepped.

Does this mean we can also get album art rips soon?

Today I'll do my best to :

Rip MP3s
Rip all artwork from the game
Step some charts for the default songlist

Al has said he has a more detailed method of ripping the artwork than my previous method, so at the very least, he can work his magic when he gets home from work.

If anyone has any requests?...

My request is that if anyone can record and upload video from the PS3 version, can you record charts of unlockable songs, particuarly the late unlockables.
