These are shadow art pieces. The shadow is made from the ... shadow of the object, in the case of the cat a bunch of twisted metal

Not sure if he should be more worried about all that CO2 or about how much trees to the mile.

More real-life stuff.
The hell is this, Aegis?
Well...this is a laser rainbow.
This laser rainbow projection is a project from artist Yvette Mattern.
It's a kind of a promotion for the London Olympics; it'll shine along the North Tyneside coastline for four days.
Append:
A two-stage suborbital rocket, screaming through the Northern Lights over Alaska.
More stuff:

I hope i won't brake the page or anything. If i do i'll put a link isntead of a direct link into the thread.
Aeron made me think about this when he posted his picture :
@Aegis : The 2nd and 3rd pictures are lovely. LEGO <3
Also the shadow arts are amazing. Same for the light painting that you posted on the previous page.
EDIT : Right click on the picture to see full size/details.

Konami’s Fox Engine uses global illumination to achieve uber-real rendering
We have heard of Hideo Kojima’s FOX engine before, and it looked good, but today, Mr. Kojima shows that the Fox engine supports global illumination (GI), a class of rendering that takes into account an essential property of light: it bounces around. To demonstrate how good the rendering is, Konami has taken photos of several locations. Their team then set out to re-create the same environment in a completely synthetic world, and measure how close their real-time rendering engine can get to the actual photo.
Is it Real, or is it "FOX?"
The 2 sets of images below depict our Kojima Productions meeting room. One set is composed of digital photographs, while the other contains screenshots of the scene recreated in the FOX ENGINE and rendered in real time. Can you tell which is FOX?
Hover over spoiler for the answer:
The correct answer is...B. The FOX Engine strives to achieve heightened realism through the use of accurate physics-based lighting. Set A contains actual photographs. Set B is a recreation of the scene created in the FOX ENGINE and rendered in real-time. A hint to figuring which is which can easily be spotted by the lighting detail.

Probably one of the most unbelievable illusions out there, this one was first published by Edward Adelson, a professor at MIT. Although the square labeled “A” appears to be darker than the square labeled “B”, they are actually exactly the same shade of gray. Its okay if you don’t believe it, we didn’t either, but Photoshop proved us wrong.
Append 2:
The following are linked only because they require source.

And here is a gif.
Yay for illusions and stuff.
Is this woman at the top of a hill looking down, or at the bottom of one looking up?
