Hey guys, I'm a 7-key player looking to get into 14-key. I'm decent at 7-key, I can pass most 10's on hyper/another and I've AA'ed a handful of them as well. I play on 1P side. What should I work on before I start attempting 14-key charts? I'll try to start one-handing some easy 7-key charts, but outside of that, I have no idea what to work on. Any advice would be MUCH appreciated. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday

Turn your high speed down a notch or two than you are used to for any given song - until you feel completely comfortable with hand placements on both sides.
I did the same thing when I started playing double in DDR, so it made sense for me to do it in IIDX.

Also, some ratings on 14k are completely off. Play songs that are 5th style or newer to avoid a lot of these songs.
I would practice doing 1 hand play on some beginner charts on the right side with your right hand. Gettig used to hitting scratch+7 is pretty common on a lot of doubles charts.
When I started, I lowered my HS and also removed my Sudden+ for a while. I then added back my Sudden+ after being able to pass 4s and it helped, but I kept my HS lower than my 7k speed.

Thanks for the input, guys. 14key is on hold right now, as I just got an IIDX ASC and I'm currently adjusting to playing 7k on the thing - the timing's a little off and my green number is shifting, so I'm going to focus on that for now. Additionally, I'm getting back into DDR/ITG - I'm trying to live a little healthier and figured DDR was good aerobic exercise. Hopefully I'll get back into 14key soon - thank you for the suggestions and comments!

Bump because I'm looking to improve my doubles skills as well.
I'm still wondering how you handle situations where you have to scratch and press keys at the same time with one hand. My hands aren't exactly big enough to be able to cover the turntable and all the keys at once.

Most newer charts (as far as I know from CS versions) usually only have the two or three outer-most keys at the same time as a scratch, at least on the easier (or rather, not harder) charts. However, when it comes to older charts like NEMESIS [A], gentle stress [H], and SWEET LAB [H], I don't think there's much you can do other than be as quick as you can.
