OMG! I miss it so much, I used to watch the Quebec edition when I was younger! I could never guess the Père Foura's riddles back then... You just made my day Oni!

Glad to hear it :3
I'm guessing it was around the late 90s you started watching (I know it was in Quebec from 1993-2000), which would put it brilliantly in line with the time the UK series started and when I began to watch it.

You're right, I can't remember exactly what years, but it was 96 and after for sure!

I absolutely love this show. I remember watching it when Melinda Messenger hosted it.
Looks a lot different nowadays though. Wow. I'm gonna have to watch these.

The UK version had an awesome soundtrack to it. Sadly it got cancelled for the stupidest reason ever (in 2002 someone new took over Five and just didn't like the show so cancelled it, despite it basically being one of the biggest rating shows on the channel).
It looks so different now because it was NEARLY cancelled in its native France. In 2010 they did a really lacklustre season, so they got one final throw of the dice, gave every cell its own nice little theming, and turned the ratings around.
And here's tonight's ep.

Ah, wow, that sucks. Challenge version didn't even hold a flame to the Channel 5 version. Not a fan of Ultimate Challenge either. It's probably wishful thinking to hope that they would return to the old format one day, who knows though.
Some of the themes seem a bit OTT like the Cylinders, but I guess it gives the cells a certain element of originality and character. I'll be watching the latest episode later on, thanks for the link.

The best thing about yesterday's ep? Métier à tisser.

That chicken believed it could fly.
It couldn't.
New series on Saturday
GET HYPE
They've got an Italian chef character. And he's wonderfully insane.
EPISODE 1 UP MOTHERLICKERS

Ep.2 up.
BLOODY HELL IT'S SERIES 25
It's properly in its stride now. What we have this year is a new character in the shape of a Canadian magician dude called Vincent C, a smattering of new games (one involves basically the trash compactor from Star Wars, and one involves a large tank of ketchup. Yes.), and they've finally given the tigers some use, in a game which involves the player basically being in a go-kart cage and having to go into the treasure room whilst the tigers are out and swatting it.
There's 10 episodes (plus a best-of-the-last-25-years), and it all starts Saturday. HYPE CANNON LAUNCHED.
