I have ran into a nasty hitch on my PSP-2001 model (I got it in Spring of 2008), which the power ends up turning on and off at random points during this time, even in the Dashboard. The only time it doesn't randomly trigger the switch is if the switch is on hold. In the neutral position, it always seems to randomly turn on and off (hell, it woke me up a few times with the SCE splash sound).
All I did so far is contacting Customer Support but that means I have to pay a fee to get this resolved. Any advice would be appreciated.

Seems like you have a loose power switch. The only thing I can think of (short of buying a new PSP) is getting the switch replaced.

I thought about that. Question is about how to replace the switch.
