If there is no DDR, then do you guys think DDR will be gone forever? I thought about that the other day and it really would make me sad seeing as it was one of my favorite things in the last 6 years and now I'll be left with an arrow stomping skill that won't land me a career or scholarship.

They would have a reason for the lack of DDR CS game, but honestly, I have a feeling this isn't going to be the last we heard about a "new" DDR, take into consideration DDR Classroom Edition coming out this fall, they NEED some other game if they want kids to follow the fanbase....right?Post #23 · Posted at 2012-06-05 07:53:10am 12.3 years ago

Honestly it makes sense. I would guess the target system would be for the Wii/U, but the Wii is a dying system and Wii U won't have the user base needed.
Not to mention that the newest Wii model is lacking the Gamecube ports.
I wouldn't be too surprised if no new DDR is announced, Konami has been gradually killing the series over the years, first we had PS2(PS3 for DDR2010)/Xbox/Wii releases, but they kept dropping platforms until last year they only had Wii and that was even before Nintendo announced that they were taking out the GC ports. So that now leaves Konami with apparently no viable platform to produce a new DDR CS game. But whatever they do, hopefully they won't outsource the series ever again, if they end up announcing DDR2012 (some sort of direct sequel of DDR2010) babies will die.

I dunno, the fact that they put 3 different DDR characters on the E3 battle and that they're posting E3 stuff on the DDR page (Even if they are just lazily cross-posting) makes me think DDR could be possible. I think the odds are 50/50 right now, anything could happen.
EDIT: Let's not forget about DDR Classroom Edition by the way. They might want a CS game they can cross-promote since they are probably hoping that playing DDR at school will drive more kids to play DDR at home.

I don't think theres a new DDR this year. I think Konami has really shifted focus to it's fb/social media games for its US audience.

I watched the gameplay trailer for The Last of Us and one thing I thought it would be about was zombies. But it turned out to be something like splinter cell or ghost recon.
I am also hyped up for Metal Gear Rising and ZOE HD collection.

Yeah! 50/50 since they put Mimi&Nyami in the contest and we surely won't see pop'n music on Wii, again.
Anything could happen (DDR III?). Let's wait.

For those worried about how the pad will connect, remember that the Wii U has USB ports.

Can someone clarify when we'll likely know whether or not a new DDR is in the works? I kept seeing a mention of a Konami conference last night at midnight but couldn't dig anything up on that. At this point are we just waiting on someone to scout the show floor?

Yes. We're waiting for the show floor to open.

This whole E3 press conference just turned into a lemon, even with Ubisoft's first look at Watch Dogs.
Nintendo's E3 was average at best.
Worst E3 I have ever seen in my entire life.

I had lots of expectations of Nintendo's conference, but after watching it...
I guess Ubisoft's was the best of what I saw.

But seriously, i didn't think this E3's was the worst at all, but it definitely isn't going to be memorable other than the Ubisoft conference. I was expecting Nintendo to really bring out the big guns for their Wii U system but...other than Pikmin 3, NSMBU, ZombiU, and Scribblenauts Unlimited, nothing was either too exciting or was already seen before. Better than MS, not as great as Sony's, but all three were trumped by Ubisoft's conference. Watch_Dogs CLEARLY stole the entire show for best game, especially seeing that it's a new IP too...that trailer almost gets me to pre-order the game but, I'm gonna have to see more of it later on when E3 opens up and we get more coverage over the games and the such.
