Before these cables came out, you might have heard about Progressive (scan) mode when you first got Guilty Gear XX or any other game you might have heard of. You can even use these cables on your PS2 on a VGA monitor when playing Progressive supported games. (Non-progressive PS2 games or PS one games on PS2 will not work with these cables.) To do this: hold Triangle and Cross buttons around 5 to 20 seconds after you hear the PS2 logo sound. Press left, down, up, or right after you hear a sound, then press Cross (Circle if playing an Asian PS2 game) then the game should appear on the VGA monitor with a notification message. Choose "Yes" quickly (Two-symbol word if playing an Asian PS2 game) or else you will have to do this process again. "YPbPr/YCbCr" component video setting must be used in order for this to work. (You have to do this code again every time you power on the PS2). Note that some games like Guitar Hero III or DDR X2 require a certain code to allow VGA mode.
