Because Activision support sucks major ass (I emailed them this question and searched their forums, but no answer), I decided to ask here...
Do Guitar Hero III (and later) guitars work with Guitar Hero II? I found Guitar Hero II for $10 new, and I don't want to buy it if my wireless axe won't work with it...
Before anyone asks, yes, I do plan on buying the Rock Band games

I think that your Wireless Guitar Controler should work reguardless of which Gutiar Hero game you have, it would be kind of stupid if a wireless controler wasn't compatable with a game. If i ever get a wireless controler and pick up a copy of Guitar Hero 2 I'll let you know how it turns out. Right now I have the Wired Guitar Controler and Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, my gutiar was free since I bought Aerosmith from GameStop as part of their Game Days promotion. Anywho I hope I've answered your question.

Like what bmhedgehog said, it should work regardless of which Guitar Hero you play. Also I did some research for you and yes you can.

I understand the wired X-Plorer guitar working with GHIII and GH: Aerosmith, but I have the Les Paul guitar (the one from those games), and usually, publishers (Activision in this case) would come with a stupid excuse to not make the Les Paul (or GHWT's axe) work with GHII, so I asked to be on the safe side...
Anyway, thanks for the answers, you two...Hopefully, I'll be able to go to that GameStop for the game sometime this weekend...

If I recall correctly. Red Octane makes both the X-Plorer and the Les Paul guitars, so i think that should back me up on my theory. I know when I get paid again I'm going for Guitar Hero 2.
