More highloads in the past minutes than the amount of boomba's posts.

You know, i actually don't really see the flaw with the High Loads as opposed to about a year ago when dreamhost just said "fuck you ZIv, were going to completely 404 your ass and not let ANYONE get on to ZIv, thank you have a nice day :3"
Yeah i can see that the High Loads are a problem but i don't see it as something that's a NAGGING and a HUGE problem. Unless it really is screwing up ZIv, making it slower, causing breaks in the site, etc., i really do not see that big of a deal with the High Loads.
Granted, usually when they happen i am away from the computer doing something else or i AM on the computer doing something else...and when they occur, i just let it do it things and go back after about 2 minutes.
It WOULD be nice to get it fixed though, seeing that most everyone here is getting annoyed at the constant High Loads of the site, but as far as i can see it i don't have that much of a problem with it unless it completely blocks access to ZIv like it did last time.

Unfortunately, it hasn't, and we're still getting high server loads. However, when we get it, the percentage is about 6% as opposed to the 22% it was a day or so ago. It also doesn't happen as often though it does happen.Post #67 · Posted at 2011-06-29 02:47:01pm 12.9 years ago

It's not even the server that's the issue, it's the stupid database that keeps locking up.

*bump* I keep getting 500 server errors whenever I try to do something on here and the chat is pretty much broken and not sending posts. It took me 5 minutes and at least 10 404's to get onto this page alone.
I even got a 500 trying to post this LOL

Which user did you send a PM to? Most likely that user does not have a valid email address...

Bump: CPU usage on the server has been very high since Monday causing very slow page responses.
I have raised the issue with DH to get them to kill off another site that's hosted on the same server that's causing 100% CPU usage.
I have no ETA on when this will be fixed, I have made DH aware for the past 24 hours.

Seriously thinking about jumping to another host after they blamed it on this site pretty much.
Even with the web server disabled, there was still 100% CPU usage, so how on earth is it still this site that's causing the CPU load?
The cause is simple, they oversold the server and too many sites are on it.

Could be worse, you be involved with the debacle that is BurstNET right now:
http://blogs.digibase.ca/?articleID=167589
That's nothing but terribad...but yea I've been with other crews/communities that dealt with DreamHost and it was never a good deal. All I can tell you is my personal server with an -Atom processor- I use to run forum software between a dozen or so people with a bot and a few other niceties runs 100x faster that this place right now.
As for people to consider...I honestly don't know who you could consider that isn't not-for-profit (people I know, Digibase in that article). I COULD ask around. Krad (author of that article) might know something.

This site on a dedicated Pentium III would probably run quicker than it is now. *sigh*
