This. Also with Armenia, Azerbaijian and Georgia. Lebanon are also considering entering (they're in the EBU), but one of the laws in Lebanon is to refuse the acknowledgement of Israel as a country, so that's not going to happen.

Morroco also entered in 1980, although that didn't do too brilliantly.

If it ends up just like Belgium last year, it'd still be one of the best positions Sweden would get since our temporary success in 2006. In my eyes, we are a country which has just lost it when it comes to Eurovision, with one fiasco after another, and I really want to see that end, even though I don't like Eric Saade that much.

I'd also like to see Moldova advance too, cause that's a song that instantly caught my attention, and is now my favorite entry this year.

@Oni: There are a few countries that can enter such as Egypt,Vatican City, Algeria, but never thought of participating. If I can recall there was a rumor back in December that Qatar & Lichtenstein were interested in joining in, but their membership didn't quite get through yet.

@Spirit: Moldova is one of the countries that usually haves my favorite entries, and I really like this one because its the same people who were in 2005 contest, but many people are comparing it to that entry to this year and thinking its bad.

I don't think we should ever expect Vatican City to participate. From what I've heard it seems that their television station only broadcasts religious services, and I don't think Eurovision would fit.


Indeed there was, I watched the first semi myself and discovered that something wasn't right when the commentators remained silent, and my suspicions was right when they later spoke through a phone due to the technical flaw that had occured.

Liechtenstein's been gone over for years. I heard from somewhere that they didn't have the money, which is a bit difficult to believe from a nation of businessmen.

I would like to see Wales or Scotland join in the contest, would be interesting to see that happen.

Oh & apparently they already have plans for next year dates, being in late May of 2012 & Switzerland already have plans for their National Final already o.O

The second semi final is today, which I'm more excited then the first semi since most of my favorite songs are in the second.

Who I want to make it to the final
Slovenia (Amazing voice she has!)
Slovakia (highly doubt this will go through)
Austria (If Lithuania made it, this can too & Lithuania is more hardcore ballad. Nadine has a lovely voice too)
Sweden (probably gonna make it no matter what unless something screws up)
Estonia (one of my favorites)
Netherlands (Cmon, this is one of the best Netherlands entries in years)
Romania (really good, but underrated in my opinion)
Denmark (This will make it as always, plus their position is really good)
Bosnia & Herzegovina (Great song, bad starting position)
Latvia (could be a surprise if they made it), Moldova (Good song to play after two ballad like songs back to back) or Belgium (acapella groups are good, but not really for Eurovision, but could surprise everyone if this made it)

I like Irelands entry too, but listening to Jedward live & their backup singers...*headdesk*

Pretty sure about half my list are not going to the final, but I can only hope and like the first semi, anything can happen
