Ooooh that’s great news. I hope they’ll bring over the periperal and please no stupid western licenses apart from soundtracks. I still remember that 2005 game 🤢
There's a Switch Taiko game coming out the same day as the PS4 one called Taiko no Tatsujin Drum n Fun.

Don't hold your breath; my guess is that there's going to be some songs removed due to licensing issues (maybe some of the J-pop songs in particular), but maybe we'll get the DLC songs for free on the disc? I think that would be a very good trade-off.

Yeah that's inevitable the removal of songs due to right holders. I just don't want to see crap from mainstream radio infesting the game because that strategy didn't work. Whatever songs they can license from the previous AC versions the better. The game is already confirmed to have TV & Anime, Touhou, Vocaloid tracks!

A couple more details that I wrote for a Taiko-related blog:
-) The European version of the PS4 title will be only be distributed digitally; plus, according to a Bandai Namco rep, DLCs for both US and EU versions of the game (from the JP/Asia version catalog) are not planned to come as of now (Source)
-) After a bemanistyle inquiry to the US BanNam Twitter reps, it is known that neither the Western releases of the PS4 game and the Nintendo Switch Taiko title will have the official peripherals being shipped stateside. This applies to both US and EU (Source)

Wow no planned DLC at the moment. That’s usually a good sign but for music games kind of a whimper. They’re also shooting themselves on the foot big time with word that the drums are not coming. Better buy one now before they’re super duper jacked up on import prices. BanNam is really cutting corners here.

The US and EU version's songlists have been posted on Bandai Namco's Twitter accounts.
They're both identical to the Japanese songlist, at least for the on-disc songs. Bandai Namco UK even confirmed that Let It Go will be in Japanese.
