I'm trying to figure out how to set the player's style without going to the screen made to do it, and just go straight to where I want the game to go. I've tried putting it in the main menu choice functions, but it doesn't work. Any ideas on how to do this? Next thing I'll have to do is go through the pain of Visual C++ and .NET 2003 and OGL.
I got a comment on Reddit about using AutoSetStyle in metrics but it isn't working.

I can't give you advice on how to fix that. I would normally say use AutoSetStyle.
I can give you advice on something else though. If people look at your thread and don't reply, maybe it's because they don't even know how to solve the problem. Don't get discouraged over that. Give it some time and if no one replies, there are other methods of finding out the answer.

Okay so, which theme are you trying to use this for? Does the method that the Reddit user mention work on the default theme?

no, he just said to use the AutoSetStyle. and the one im using it on is what normally comes with 3.9, SMMAX2. would this be able to work with any theme?
i got a comment a week ago that says "I have this exact setup but on SM5.1. May I ask why you are still using SM3.9?"
also one of the first comments suggested its impossible because the player hasnt joined from the main menu screen yet
