I would like to request a toggle checkbox for "include movies in zip" in conjunction with autogen zip, when someone has to update files other than movies in simfiles. Normally, when there is movie in simfile and if there are updates like images, sm and/or bgm files, i always delete the movies and zip first, autogen zip with new or updated files other than movies and then reupload the latter (not included in zip).
If this is implemented, we can save time and effort because we don't need to reupload movies so they can be downloaded outside of zip.

I would love a Discord contact field. Other than that, this update looks spicy.

Two things:
One, why are you removing the picture gallery?
Two, will any simfiles be deleted or will they all remain?

1. Inactivity. The arcades and DDR score tracker sections will continue to use some of its uploading functionality but everything else will be scrapped.
2. All remain.
2. All remain.

Try literally any other external image hosting site, for example: https://imgur.com

Don’t worry, that will definitely happen. 😁Post #15 · Posted at 2017-12-15 05:22:02pm 6.2 years ago
The only other suggestion I have is bigger avatars, but I guess that would depend on the site design itself.

"BBCode Not Allowed" |
That's another thing I want to address. There's also another request to be able to crop and adjust the sizes of uploaded images into a square avatar. It's a tactic that's been done on Facebook, Twitter, and the core functions of websites powered by WordPress (mainly the CMS, not WordPress.com). We're looking to expand the size of avatars from 100x100 to around 256x256 or 512x512, probably gonna be the former. Avatars are also going to be circular.
Now, in case any of you are wondering about why I'm posting and or my involvement in the project, I'll be assisting Alan with the site's design, user experience, branding, and visual identity (also SEO, woohoo) once everything is functional. Just to give some more detailed explanations of the planned features and updates:
The BBCode editor has been updated as well. Emoticons will be deprecated, and all previous usages of emoticons will be turned into emojis. To further improve on this change, we're looking to include an emoji picker 😂👌💯💯 for those not on mobile. As for the difficulties ( ), I'm going to try and turn these into scalable vectors (SVG) so they display well on mobile.
ZIv's homepage will most likely have the most extreme makeover.
My concern about this, however, is that this would allow users to upload files of any extension, so we're looking to see which extensions would be blacklisted and or which file types would be allowed during the upload process. So far, there hasn't been any true issues concerning security over the years in the simfile section, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Like Alan said before, if anyone has any suggestions, questions, or comments, feel free to shoot them by.

• Site framework will be changed. Responsive design on all pages so it will scale properly on phones and tablets.
We are using Bootstrap 4, a very powerful and popular HTML/CSS/JS framework used on many websites. Almost all table elements found within v5.2 have been turned into responsive div elements that will adjust and wrap around to accommodate all device displays. The BBCode editor has been updated as well. Emoticons will be deprecated, and all previous usages of emoticons will be turned into emojis. To further improve on this change, we're looking to include an emoji picker 😂👌💯💯 for those not on mobile. • Modernization of the DDR Score Tracker to DDR A standards and redesigned.
Currently, the score tracker uses the SN2 scoring method as the default standard. The new website will use DDR A's scoring and grading system as the default, with the choice of SN2 and SN scoring methods as alternatives. Photo evidence can also be uploaded, and any third-party image links (Imgur, Twitter, etc.) or video links can be linked as photo evidence as well.Quote: al2k4
• Simfiles section to be redesigned completely. Simfile upload and update workflow will be reworked and streamlined.
There will no longer be upload fields for individual parts of a simfile, such as SSC/SM/DWI, audio, video, custom archive, and so on. Instead, you can upload all parts of your simfile in bulk, which allows for customized naming conventions instead of relying on ZIv's naming convention. This will be easier to manage for simfile contests, as well.My concern about this, however, is that this would allow users to upload files of any extension, so we're looking to see which extensions would be blacklisted and or which file types would be allowed during the upload process. So far, there hasn't been any true issues concerning security over the years in the simfile section, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

• Notification customization system. Support for turning off notifications for specific event types and/or items.
We also have ideas of implementing browser notifications as well, as seen on websites such as Facebook or Yahoo.Quote: al2k4
• Arcades section redesign.
There will be an inclusion of request forms that you can use to help improve this section, as well as inclusion of uploading photos or including third-party photo or video links, like the DDR Score Tracker.Quote: al2k4
• Display name feature.
My idea, actually! Alan brought up a conversation on how to properly handle username changes, so I proposed that the user's ID number (#1408 is mine, for example) and either the registered username or chosen display name will be displayed on any user's posts. Hovering over the user's avatar will display the username if a display name is used. At the moment, we're trying to work on how to limit this feature to prevent abuse.Like Alan said before, if anyone has any suggestions, questions, or comments, feel free to shoot them by.

I am in the staff committee so I am also overseeing this. I’ll let you know what bits I’m doing when I do them, which is a very round-the-houses way to say that I’ve been freeloading.

Why not have an option to set whether to use a square or circular one? I prefer square avatars personally. No big deal if not though, just seems strange to force.Quote: xRGTMx

Circular and rounded square avatars actually give a softer, more natural appearance, as you've probably seen in various social media sites and apps. While square avatars aren't too bad, rounded avatars are much easier on the eyes.Quote: xRGTMx

• Display name feature.
Oh baby.
I still think people should be given limited ability to actually change their usernames if possible. Being able to change display name is good enough for most cases where people want to add a star or remove numbers or change their nick to be funny for topical events or whatever. Especially because you should be able to log in with a normal username and have a name with emojis or other fancy characters on your posts if you want to. But I feel like every once in a while people actually have good reason to change their real username.
I think I've commented on this before so I hate to sound like a broken record, but I also think that this is really important for some people.
