So I was just given a DDR x2 machine, and while I was waiting on the bolts and such to be available as we forgot one of the bags when moving it to my house, I saw a few phrases being bandied about online such as "card mod" and "song unlock codes". As a new owner what should I be aware of for making my machine the most entertaining and efficient as can be? Finally on a side note I should ask where would the cheapest sensor replacements be found at as I noticed several of them are not performing right, I swapped some around to at least give one side full function.

Thank you for that link, 'tis a bit more clear and concise compared to the one I found.
Max, given. When a local place called latitude 30 went out of business due to the owner embezzling there was a auction for all the stuff, my best friend managed to get the DDR machine for 1100 due to no one else wanting to bid on it because the monitor was not working. Fast forward one year and he just joined the Air Force and will be stationed in England for the next four years. As much as he would love having it with him I think he's got bigger things to worry about at the moment. So he insisted I keep it.
*disclaimer, original monitor was replaced with a 39 inch flat screen tv*

Latitude 30...was this in Florida by chance? I know they used to have a Betson X2 cab but had no idea where it went after they closed.
If it is that machine then wow, not a bad gift lol. I am actually in the Air Force as well, saving up money to buy my own machine down the road (along with other ones like jubeat, MUSECA, etc.)

Yes that place is located in Jacksonville

Already fully working for single player, just need a few sensors for the other side for 2 player, and yes that was in jax fl.
