FELMDemon's Fake Double Edits and GR Specials

I'll be updating here periodically when I decide to make new simfiles.

I'm translating Doubles charts of songs to singles charts as they usually have a different beat and nice gimmicks than their singles counterparts. I'll have to edit them a bit as they have crossovers that make you play backwards due to the lack of a second stepzone. They will have (FDE) next to their name.

I'm also making "Groove Radar Special Charts" like the gimmick in SN2.

Hmm I downloaded some of your GR specials.

Chaos is quite fun, and very tricky for that. I like it.

HDV is a bit overspam, especially at the part where you normally have your triplets. It's a bit voltage special? Haha.. I always thought that that part can be done using 12-beat notes. Or maybe I'm wrong.. Haha.

I like the double edit for FELM.

The beat in the doubles charts caught my attention and most of the charts are very different from their Singles counterpart so I wanted to do something like that.

There is only so much I could work with in HDV so I took out parts that didn't seem too great. I didn't want to make a CHAOS (CHAOS Special) and none of the other SN Boss songs had anything I could do for Chaos.

I'm definitely remaking the Stream Special though. It seems like too much nonsense for my taste.

Well Played them all.
Let's see:
HDV - First Half is not so bad, the middle is pretty good actually , but last part lost it's Chaos special and changed to stream.
Felm - Pretty solid, some jumps at the stops that screwed me.
Chaos. I actually like, but stops specially the first ones are off sync.
FaxX - Pure Hell , I actually try it on pad and couldn't do more after the first speed change.

I understand the first one being off-sync because I decided to make the first stop do something but I used the Z-i-V file to edit CHAOS so it can't be off-sync. I just played it and it's fine.

I can't exactly make the last part of HDV chaotic being at 360 bpm and all

The only part chaotic about HDV's 360 section is the 360 bpm so eh.

I'm going to change FELM when I get the chance. I need to take out some of the arrows and re-make the bridge part. I want to use all of the beats in the doubles and singles chart that allows for more stream instead of making up my own. Death-run stays though ;)

I need some more practice on knowing how to move on doubles before I can make a doubles chart for the specials.

The PtF file that I uploaded is supposed to be the official expert chart from DDR:UK but it feels like the ending is off-sync. I won't touch that song with a 10 foot pole (u c wut i did thar?) until I know how I can work with it.

I'm trying to make the steps follow the person talking for the expert chart. It seems like he speaks in a 16th note voice. XD

I made the steps in difficult freeze arrows so you literally can't take your feet off the pad. I might add more steps but I'm satisfied with it currently. It's a 3 footer :3

And the Voltage special will be MAX 300 (SMM Mix). It is the only one left in the SN list after all.

To me:

Voltage = I can do whatever I want.

All I'm probably going to do is try to make a 555 step chart for MAX 300 (SMM Mix). If MAX 300 had 555 steps and Maxx Unlimited had 555 steps, why shouldn't the combination mix of these two songs have 555 steps?

Or I can just take the fun parts of the Expert and Challenge charts and mirror some of it. I'm not too sure. So many options with this song.

Oh yeah, I tried to make a Groove Radar Special for SAKURA... I found out that it's nigh impossible to get Chaos in the high .9 with this song even with 64th steps in the 20 bpm section

So after this set, I'll be working on the EXTREME set ;D

Lol the combination of the 2 songs should have 1110 steps. Since it's a voltage special, isn't it? Haha..

Actually voltage is very generic, stream jumps are also voltage.. Haha.

Voltage doesn't have as precise a meaning as Freeze or Air, but it means something. Stream is the overall concentration, and Voltage is the thick concentration. But yeah, no one type of step defines Voltage.

I fixed the gallops in the FELM Expert chart as I noticed that they were 32nd gallops (that's demonic, Konami XD)

I also added two MAX 300 (SMM Mix) files; one is Voltage Special and the other is the FDE.

I also bumped all the specials so they could be together.

(I'll only do it once.)

I'll be working on ! and Energizer. I need to see if they are worthy of the status 13 footer. They are rare in ITG and I'd like to see what they did differently in the Doubles charts.


EDIT: Energizer has been completed. Be careful. It's a 13 footer. ;)

I'm working on something similar called Mode Swap, which is the same thing except in addition to Doubles being converted to Singles, the same is done for Singles to Doubles.

I've completed some GR Specials over the weekend.

With Poseidon I noticed that the person who made the expert chart didn't like following the beat of the song.

So I did. The end result was this awesome stepchart that had a lot of CHAOS in it.

By the way... the 75 bpm part... I listened to it countless times over and over again and deemed that the PARANOiA Hades death stream followed the beat and fit in perfectly.

Pluto GRS was a bit weird. Trying to max out all the categories in 52 measures is a stretch. I did the best I could. The good news is that everything still follows the beat of the song except for the little taps I put in at the freeze arrows at the end of the song.

FELM SS.

Wow. I scrapped the beginning of the song and added jackhammer streams that follow the telephone. I also added in 32 gallops at certain points like in the FELM Doubles chart.

Even if there is a telephone ringing in the background, I decided that the gallops take precedence.

I know, I'm evil.

I didn't think it was that hard. All I did was follow the piano for most of the song and I had a 1.00000 in every category. For jumps, I used streams during the fast part with jumps on the hard piano hits, and the freezes are mostly at the pauses.

So....

I looked at my HDV Chaos Special and realized that the 16ths in the 180 bpm section went to absolutely nothing, making it unplayable. I changed them to 12ths and they went to the beat great.

Now the entire song seems off-sync.

I've known for a while that HDV is off-sync in the and charts so I plan to modify what I have now to make it play better.

I need help though. What sections are seriously off-sync in the 180 BPM section of the chart? That's the base for my Chaos Special in the beginning.

Help would be appreciated.

It's not a HDV question, but between ! and vVv, I'd go for !, as V³ technically has never been officially recognised as an ITG3 song (all we know is that it's a PIU Pro one). That, and rounghly 99.5% of V³ files online are "LET'S BE COMPLETELY PANTS-ON-HEAD RETARDED!" Specials...actually, go for VVV if you wanna. I want to see how it turns out (if you looks at my sig and think 'Hypocrite', I'm in the 99.5%.

Actually, what I was planning to do with VVV was copy the placement of the arrows in PIU Pro stepchart and turn the arrows 45 degrees to either direction to see if it makes sense.

If not, I'd ad-lib the steps but stay true to the PIU Pro chart.

Then I'd take the most prominent feature of the song that isn't taken by another song and call it that ---- Special. It would most likely by a Voltage Special.

I'll probably not use VVV in my ITG specials as I find it difficult to listen to in the end.

From what I've noticed in the official charts, the 360 bpm section is a 16th late. You could get a pretty easy "Chaos special" by just making the second half yellow =P

Other than that, I haven't noticed offsync-ness in the first half. I would change that 16th run to a 12th run though, and mix it up a little more.
