Hey all, I am like most people and have a small budget. I'm looking to make a big purchase though and I am wondering if any one could help me find where I can get the best deal on a metal DDR pad with the arcade bar. I could go for the tournament no bar one and build my own under it too but I really wouldn't want to resort to that because I don't have too many power tools. I've been searching on sites like eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, etc... It's dam hard to find one.

Your best bet would be an Impulse platform. It's not out yet, but it's speculated to be the best on the market when it is available.

It's important to note the Impulse pads aren't currently being marketed toward PS2/Xbox players, they are primarily designed for PC users.
In the current state of DDR, if you want a good metal pad for the PS2 or Xbox, you'll need to design one, unless you can find a decently priced Cobalt Flux or Blueshark on Ebay/Amazon/CL/etc. That's easier said than done, though.

Thanks for the link, I was planning on getting it for PC. So much so that I have been looking at old xbox pads and I got a converter cable to usb for the pad. Unfortunately it was sold on ebay before I could snag it. The impulse pads though are just out of the price reach for me. I was really hoping to go for $300 max for a pad. I know that is pretty low for a pad, but times are tough as a college student if you know what I mean.
