So, I understand that Beatmania IIDX ranks its players with a Dan course ranking system. Now that I've been playing Lunatic Rave 2 for quite a while, I was hoping that I could figure out where I fit on this ranking. However, there's a few problems:

-I live in Oregon. I'm sure you've all heard me rant enough about Oregon's arcade scene already, so I'll spare the details.
-RemyWiki has no information on the difficulties of the songs present in Dan courses.
-Close to no videos of lower-rank Dan courses exist. The easiest I found was from DJ Troopers' 5th Dan. Everything else is either 6th Dan+ or doubles play.

What I know is this...

-No, I can't clear The Safari H. And I can't even clear Gigadelic N, for that matter.
-The aforementioned DJ Troopers' 5th Dan appears to be around the level 8-9 area, probably a step outside my level.
-So far, the hardest song I've cleared to date is LUV CAN SAVE U A on easy gauge.

Just out of curiosity, is there any way someone can give me some kind of approximation of where I might fit on the Dan scale? I'm still relatively new to IIDX, so I don't really know much about the system... I'm guessing from the info that I've gathered that I'm probably either 3rd or 4th Dan at this point, but I don't even know what level the Dan ranking starts at and how quickly it increases in difficulty.

Just a small question. Thanks in advance.

Around 4th-5th dan I guess. Take a look here to see the courses for every game (although remember that CLASS mode uses a special, harder gauge).

Some of this may seem out of topic, but I type it out of wanting to help a fellow iidx player.

-End the use of Easy Clear/auto-scratch/all that stuff hindering you from understanding what playing normally would be.
You'll thank me later.

-Play every song on a level that you feel is equal to what you can possibly do.
If you play 8's for the most part, don't get bogged down if you come across four-leaf and can't pass it.
You'll pass 12's and never get to pass that 1 lv. 10 song for a long time.

-Dan-courses don't mean anything and only really help in the arcade for you to be able to play stuff like lvl 11's and 12's on earlier stages. Don't feel bad if you can't pass Safari or Gigadelic.

Though if you ask me, you're most likely 4th dan transitioning to 5th dan. Feel that things like sync [h] will make you stumble a bit.

Thanks for the help, everyone! (Whoops, looks like RemyWiki did have info... I didn't really know where to find them from link surfing though, so thanks for the link)

Also Aegis, thanks for the tips! I don't really use any assists, I only use the easy gauge since I'm just aiming to get as high a score as I can. (Most of the songs I fail, I either don't get into the red or I flunk out in the last two seconds...) I'll probably do a bit of playing with the default groove gauge to see which songs I struggle a bit more at. I'm also pretty well aware of how awkward the difficulty is, I still can't beat 5.1.1 H yet...
