Sorry wasn't sure, especially since this thread is riddle with google drive and mega links being able to download the same data.


Figured github was more 'official' and vetted compared to these random download links.

So, we aren't able to share github links? So why weren't the other links in this thread removed?

Stupid question, but why all the redacted if they are just links to emulator branches (as opposed to ROM sites, where redacting the links makes perfect sense)?

I can answer that...it's cause the mods don't know how to do things consistently and simply based on who is posting.

Posts broke no rules and simple links to an emulator at their official github as opposed to sketchy google and mega drive links; which have been posted on this thread for close to a year by others...

FR, if it were to ROM sites, it'd make sense (hence why in my reverse engineering thread I made it clear I wouldn't post links to ROMS or ISO images - to ensure that it stayed as legit as possible) - but... it's fucking emulators, emulators which don't contain games, emulators where it's up to the user to get the softwarwe to use with it.

I mean i'm not entirely sure if you're aware but the initial twitter user was the person who is responsible for mame and python emulation being where it is today. So if anyone's entitled to be annoyed it's probably them, and you aren't exactly painting yourself in a good light with this reply.

Emulation and Piracy aside, any software development project that gets shared when it's still in active development results in loads of people picking it up, complaining it doesn't work properly or requires a degree of "Work it out yourself" to it and these questions usually get thrown at the people working on it, sometimes as just nasty critiques whereas if you wait until it's in a stable build/position then it works better. So maybe, just maybe, that's why they weren't too keen on you uploading an old build with a set of roms and instructions, that were probably outdated within about a week of development time?

For what it's worth i'm not critiquing you or anyone on this site for the way this discussion has gone. Just trying to help you understand why someone would be genuinely frustrated with this happening. I know a lot of projects that have been just abandoned because of builds getting leaked and the publicity/huge amount of questions being enough to put the developer off. Fairly sure you as well as everyone else in the music game scene, wouldn't want to see all development of this stuff stop now it's finally getting some serious momentum.

An updated one was uploaded in June; prior to his tweet - if there was an issue after that - he could have had the mods delete it. Since it's still there and he said nothing to me on sows. What else do you want? 🤷‍♂️

I know exactly who he is...The fact he wants to complain about a torrent from months ago and a debate on Zenius(that's been trashed for a month), that had nothing to do with him, obviously shows that he is having internal issues - nothing to do with me.
