Hey everyone.

With the opening of the second floor yesterday, I thought that it would be a good time to introduce Arcade Club for everyone who might be interested.

Situated now over two floors, Arcade Club is a pay-for-entry arcade with every machine on Free Play (or with a credit button for machines that are unavailable). It is one of the largest arcades in Europe, with hundreds of machines on site. Initially, the arcade concentrated mainly on retro games and pinball, with a vast selection on the top floor, of which I'm not going to go into right now.

For the rhythm game community, more recent developments may be of interest. Specifically, Arcade Club is now home to two DDR machines (Currently: Dancing Stage Euromix 1 on the top floor, and DDR Extreme on the second floor). There is also Pop'n Music Party, Groove Coaster 2 and Taiko 13 on site, all of which are currently situated on the second floor. It is my understanding that this is not the final selection of games, and that more are incoming, as well as a change in mixes for some.

The newly opened second floor also contains several powerful gaming PCs, as well as a selection of consoles, several from the current generation (including the Switch) as well as classics.

I'll be taking some pictures of around the arcade later on, but it's nice to have some sort of hub outside of the London area for a change.

Currently open on Friday evenings (18+) and Weekends.

If anyone has any questions about Arcade Club, I'll try and answer them

Any idea what happened with Groove Coaster? Last time I was there it was turned off and when I asked the staff I was told that it is currently out of order but it will get fixed. I don't see it listed above - did you omit it or did they got rid of it?

Oh, whoops. Yeah it's fine, when was the last time you visited. GC's had some weird issues but it's generally okay.

Leeds got some new cabinets today:

Dance Evolution
Taiko no Tatsujin
The Bishi Bashi

Have visited the Arcade Club in Bury once. It is a quite great place with a lot of latest music games. But pump it up was not the latest version. Could I ask is there any update about pump it up or any plan about it?

I'll be completely honest, I've seen a lot of negativity around XX and PIU just doesn't have the following locally to justify the investment. I would think that if PIU was to do anything, it'd get SM converted to try and get the casual audience more interested.

Didnt it used to be a SM setup anyway but it was changed back to Fiesta 2 because it didn't work properly? Regardless yeah all the classic stuff being removed from XX has turned a lot of people off so far so going to SM would probably be better in the long run?

Yes, there's a StepF2 drive but the MK6 isn't powerful enough to prevent the game lagging behind the music over time. To be honest one of the major problems with Andamiro is they really aren't designed for free to play venues. Why wouldn't you run to the attract sequence at some point?!

I only just realised it hangs on the title screen, yeah that’d be an issue. I think StepF2 would have remedied it though unless they were faithful with that in their recreation too. Also didn’t hog have the same issue with their stepF2 setup? I remember it being related to videos taking up too much work to play that was the issue
