Well, regardless, I don't think it would replace Simfile Shuffle even if it happened.

something like 20, or to perhaps make it fairer, 25% of your points.
Or even something like 20 points or 25% of your points, whichever is higher.
Anyways, really cool and creative idea! I'd be up for it.

deskwork (+1)
Seemed horribly overstepped until the ending. @ submitter: why send in this song?
Yeah you definitely drew the short stick of this round :/ Props to actually working with this song!
DOMINO DANCING (+1)
Could definitely use a harder chart. But, you've got no major doublesteps, which is good!
Everlasting Last (+2)
Nice chart!
Seems a little much, but at the same time it also fits
Good Intentions (+3)
Nice! Not much to say. Gimmicks were neat.
Kiss This (+4)
Great! Definitely one of your best charts to date!
Snorlax (+3 +4)
I really enjoyed the 16th sections. I didn't really enjoy the footswitches much, here, though.

Well....now that the Shuffle ended, I can share this little recap of my role in it put into rap form This ditty is a spoof of the Chicago Bears' "Super Bowl Shuffle" from 1985. Are you ready?
(Also, I knew it was you who submitted Kiss This, DJXYZ I don't know how, though!)
~OK, GIMME A BEAT!~
I'm from the Z -I- V Shufflin' Crew
Makin' fun simfiles just for all of you
Some are bad, but some are good
I tried my hardest and did as best I could
You know I'm doing this contest for fun
Making simfiles for everyone
I'm not here to start no trouble.
I'm just here to do the Simfile Shuffle!
I'm 01angel, hot off the press
This was my first-ever simfile contest
I started off in Round C
Stepping "Always Thinking Of You" from CROSS x BEATS
It had been the best file I'd ever made
People thought it was quite fun when they played
I tried it, I liked it, I didn't pack my duffel
I decided to stay for the Simfile Shuffle!
"Trippy Squirtle" was supposed to be
The song I'd step for Round D
But it was too complex to be completed in a week, though
So I decided to use my first veto
I ended up with "Just Another Dream"
It was good, but no créme de la créme
But the BGanimations made many smile
I'm glad that some people enjoyed my simfile
"Drop the Mambo" was for Round E
It was actually the song submitted by me
I tried to make it good, I thought I tried my best
But it ended up being full of doublesteps
I didn't see why to me, they were so hard to find
What had I been doing wrong the whole time?
I didn't mean to start any trouble
I just wanted to do good in the Simfile Shuffle!
*REPEAT CHORUS*
"L'esprit" in Round F was quite a strange one
Making the charts for it wasn't even all that fun
It was actually my first boss song ever
Giving it a challenge chart was quite the endeavor
I thought it was better than "Drop the Mambo",
It had no doublesteps, but problems were still there, though
There were issues with rhythms and ambiguity
I had to step my game up for Round G!
That round, I ended up using Veto #2
'Cause the "Turn Down For What" remix made me say "ew"
I got lucky with "All is Wrecked"
'Cause I knew it from Beatmania IIDX
NewbStepper helped me make it my best file yet
And I'm certain it's one I'll never forget
It didn't make it to the top 3 that round
But I learned from the Simfile Shuffle, I found!
In Round H, I had to step "99",
I was afraid I wouldn't finish it in time
But it ended up having even better charts
Than All Is Wrecked, which I made from my heart
Though it didn't quite make it to the top 3
It sure was a big improvement for me
I'm glad that most people liked it, ooh~
I love making shuffled simfiles for you!
For Round I, I got another BEMANI song
"Stardust Distancia" didn't take too long
Maybe it was because I had 2 days off from school
So I had extra time to make the charts pretty cool
But I discovered 24ths were a weak spot
"Amazing" was what the charts were not
It wasn't my fault the assist ticks were muffled
But I still had fun with the Simfile Shuffle
*REPEAT CHORUS*
In Round J, the song for me that they picked
Was "Save The Music (Levin Ae11# Mix)"
With BGAnimations and solid charts,
I felt it wasn't as much as a fart
As my file last round - and I was right
To many who played it, it was a delight
I'm not here to feather your ruffle
I'm just here to do the Simfile Shuffle!
The next song for me to make in StepMania
Came all the way from Lithuania
I recieved "Apology 2000" in Round K
It was easy to step - but that meant nothing, hey
I wasn't able to finish it on time
And I can't think of another word to rhyme
That doesn't mean I won't, at all, step the song,
I'll continue to step it for fun - I can't go wrong!
I ended the shuffle on a really great note
For Round L, I made the best file yet that I wrote
Stepping "Kiss This" by The Struts,
I finally made it to the top 3 for once
I was so proud, I couldn't deny it
I'm glad my file makes people happy when they try it
That's why you all got here on the double
I got 8th place overall in the Simfile Shuffle!
*REPEAT CHORUS ONE LAST TIME*
I want to give the warmest of thanks to...
-vincentw and Scarz for being good hosts, despite song lists being delivered a bit late sometimes...but at least you guys tried!
-Everyone who gave me votes ,HMs, and reviews - y'all helped me get to the top 10, something I didn't even think would happen. I was ecstatic to find out I made it to THIRD PLACE in Round L (holy lightbulbs!)...and even happier finding out that I was in 8th place overall!
Also, congratulations to everyone who participated!
This was so much fun - if there's no Shuffle next year, I guess I'll see everybody in Summer Contest and Simfile Tycoon!
(Also, I knew it was you who submitted Kiss This, DJXYZ I don't know how, though!)

Many apologies to Dreamland, but voting time is already closed a while ago.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the (¼ 2016 + ¾ 2017) edition of Simfile Shuffle! We hope everyone had fun this year, and we can look forward to fresh ideas this time next year. Already there's a potential simfile format that can fill the gap in 2017 in this thread, and I'm looking forward to see how it goes if it indeed happens!
In numbers: 2,235 points, 183 skeletons, 149 votes, 122 simfiles, 83 bonus points, 51 new backups, 32 vetoes, 25 remaining backups, 12 rounds, 2 hosts, 1 heck of a Shuffle.
Apologies if this contest isn't as great as other years. This year has been especially busy for both me and Scarz, and between all aspects of life, it was difficult to manage the time. However, we always try to host this contest as best we can, so I hope it shows. Hopefully when it's back in the future, it will be much better.
Another reminder: anyone who doesn't want their backup files to be carried to the next Shuffle may PM me to request removal. Those who don't object will see their files carried for next time.
I also want to thank everyone who discussed about the rule changes for the next Shuffle. After some deliberation, the provisional changes for the next Shuffle are:
- Having it run for 8 weeks instead of 12,
- Having the filemaker specify which difficulties (3 max) they want the stepper to do (Cuzco's idea), and
- Adding a judging panel that accounts for 50% of the scores (panel will be announced when it's time).
Thanks for participating, and see you next time!
After a long wait, we finally have the filemakers for Rounds G and H. Thanks to everyone who helped!

"now led_light for short" |
I thought I'd share my final thoughts on the shuffle before this thread becomes inactive, so here goes.
This was without a doubt the most fun shuffle I've been a part of to date. Other than being absent for the first three rounds and a few bad luck draws in the middle, I started and finished the shuffle with relatively strong files. Also, I'm a little surprised myself that all of my submissions, including the ones in previous years, have yet to be vetoed. In fact, all nine of my submissions this year (ten if you include the one backup file) have been stepped as well, which is awesome. I had a fun time stepping all of the songs I got too (yes, that includes Prelude; goddammit Nezemarth ).
Now, as for my opinions in regards to some potential rule changes (which can apply to any contest and not just the shuffle):
While I would prefer keeping the - requirement so that there is at least some consistency when comparing files, I can understand if some people don't have the time to make all three charts. Then again, we're allowed to penalize files for missing charts when voting anyway, so I'm on the fence for this one.
This I am against mainly because of time constraints again. Having only short comments or numerical ratings at a minimum wouldn't be as helpful to others either.
I'm against having a judging panel entirely due to personal biases alone. I'd like to keep the voting as democratic as possible and not give certain people more power over others. (unless I'm a part of that panel *wink* *wink*) (no, not really)
I actually like this, but only for rounds with up to 15 files. I think 15 points is still a good hard limit so that rounds with a large number of files remain more competitive. Also, we'd need an additional rule that prevents people from just giving +1 to each file and calling it a day. Perhaps we could give out one less point than the number of files instead (so 1pt for 2 files, 2pts for 3 files, etc.).

- Lowering the minimum chart requirements to just one or two (e.g. one of and one of or something similar).

- Require some sort of justification for every vote, so there's at least some degree of credibility for all votes.
This I am against mainly because of time constraints again. Having only short comments or numerical ratings at a minimum wouldn't be as helpful to others either.

- A judging panel that accounts for 50% of the scores.

- Make it so that each voter can give out as many points as there are simfiles in the round (12 sims → 12pts to spread).
