Open up your .sm file in notepad or any text editor.

Type what you want between : and ;.
Save.

Example

#TITLE:Blacksphere;
#SUBTITLE:;
#ARTIST:Iriss;
#TITLETRANSLIT:;
#SUBTITLETRANSLIT:;
#ARTISTTRANSLIT:;
#GENRE:mrowwwwwwwwww;
#CREDIT:;

Or you can change it within Stepmania, depending on what theme you are using, but opening an .sm file in a text editor is quicker.

If you are confused as to what to put for a genre if you are stuck between EDM, D&B, Future Bass, whatever, then try picking one. I'm sure no one cares or even sees the genre on a simfile.
