Well, I put a deposit down for a Switch. I actually got one of the last preorders they had available at GameStop. Hopefully it'll live up to my expectations. For what it's worth, I did really like the Wii U.
I have the PS4 and Xbox One to keep myself occupied in the meantime

Not as bad as I was expecting, but no monthly option? Weird as fuck.

I've always done my XBL yearly so I'm not too concerned. I think the price point is decent, they know they aren't directly competing with PS4/XB1's online so they aren't trying to.

Yeah, twenty quid a year doesn't sound too bad. Still, I just find it weird.
This does mean you're getting an NES/SNES game for, like, two bucks on top of everything, too. Again, never going to compare to Xbox/PS+, but it's not bad.

I am still heavily on the fence about buying one. I'm going to need people to play test it out in the wild for a few months before I throw down my coin.

inb4 nobody cares what I have to say.
I've decided not to buy one at launch and getting BotW on WiiU instead. Why would I spend north of $400 to play the same game, but with a slightly better framerate? Not to mention that a Pro controller costs $70?! GTFO. However, I am glad that Puyo Puyo Tetris is finally going to be released stateside. Maybe I might grab one during the holiday season when Super Mario Odyssey comes out? That is, if Nintendo can keep them in stock.
nobody still cares.

$17-26? Is that an estimate, or multiple proposed services? I mean, I did read the original article, and those numbers seem reasonable no matter what, but it seems somewhat oddly specific to me. I feel like I'm going to spend the next few weeks speculating about an unimportant detail...

Probably a smart choice. Sometimes, early adoption can be a bit of a pain, like when the overprice the system (My 3DS), or when they have a huge new-title-winter just a month or two after launch (My Wii U). And yet I'm going to make the same mistake and grab my Switch early again. Of course, age usually vindicates a console at the end of its lifetime. (3DS had the price drop and Ambassador Program, Wii U got better games)

It's an estimate given by Nintendo's president to the Nikkei, and it makes more sense in Yen (¥2000 to ¥3000). I imagine we'll get an official statement soon-ish.

Yeah, that's kinda underwhelming. I know it'll be more practical, but it lacks that special flair that the previous Nintendo Consoles had. I would've mistaken this for a Playstation UI any day.

At least it has a black/dark theme, so i'm fine with that. I'm just glad they're getting rid of that Mii Plaza bloatware garbage that plagued the WiiU's homescreen. That was an unnecessary waste of system resources that could of been put into speeding up the WiiU's load time.
At least the Switch's UI seems to be responsive, so far. I wonder how much slower it'll be once there's a bunch of downloaded games onto the system.

I like how simple it is. Seems like it'll be faster to go directly to the game instead of going through load times and/or menus.
I just hope they'll add custom themes as well, but I doubt they'll do that. It seems kinda weird how the themes are called "Basic White/Black".
Also check out this
It seems we don't have to pay for software we already have (which is AMAZING for people who bought VC games 3 times).

Looks like a better UI than the usual Nintendo fare. No nonsense, no bullshit.

So, anyone braving the midnight launch lines tomorrow (or tonight, depending on your timezone at the time of this post)?
My local Best Buy is going to have a few units available for the launch, and, considering there hasn't been an opportunity to pre-order since January, I literally can not waste this opprotunity. I'm crossing my fingers I can get theStarco and Tomco red and blue joycon version, BotW, maybe an extra game, and the charge grip.

Hmm... what's the general consensus on Breath Of The Wild? I know a lot of reviewing sites are giving it (near) perfect scores, but I've heard a handful of YouTubers who've said that it was over-rated.

Breath of the Wild has a 98 on Metacritic, sharing 2nd best reviewed game with Soulcalibur, THPS2 and some other game I can't remember.
It hasn't even come out yet so it's likely to drop a couple of points, but I wouldn't place any bets on it being a 95+ when the dust has all settled. Looks like Nintendo can do something right.
