Just realized that a local X3 vs 2nd Mix is... well... a 2nd Mix simulator!! So I got really excited and had maybe about 2 seconds to look up all I could about the machine. Made the mistake of reading the X3 Remys guide instead of the guide for 2nd mix.
After I got done playing I did that, and realized that I had pretty much unlocked everything I could on "Another" mode, with the exception of Paranoia CLEAN MIX KCET vvers etc, which apparently you need to play EDIT data of a song to unlock? Doesn't seem possible in the emulated version on X3. Plus I don't have a Japanese eAmusement pass (only the NA one for DDR A).
I noticed that there are cheat codes for DDR 2nd mix, including the "Cheat Menu" (it was so trippy playing FLAT 1x without any options), the "Maniac Mode" (Expert I assume?) and the "All Songs" mode (!!!).
Are these cheats, and any others, possible with X3 vs 2nd Mix, or only for 2nd Mix? Some of the cheats said only possible with LINK Version, which I believe was 2 player DDR 2nd Mix? Was DDR only 1 player at one point?
Anyways, if you know any cool secrets about the 2nd Mix on X3, or even any secrets on the X3 machine that can be unlocked without eAmusement (again, dont have japanese USB thingy), LET ME KNOW

oh also I read that EXTRA STAGE was removed from 2nd Mix? Wonder if it's in on the simulated version (because it's X3, maybe?). I got SS on Butterfly (LOLOLOL) and SS on Make It Better but didn't seem to unlock. Got so close to SS'in Paranoia Dirty Mix.

I can confirm that Maniac Mode does indeed work on X3's 2nd Mix Mode. Not sure about the others, but I can test those when I can. The LINK version is just another version of 2nd MIX from back in the day, and I don't know what version that X3 actually emulates... I think vanilla 2nd MIX though. Lastly no I don't think that 2nd Mix Mode has Extra stage at all.

Sweet thank you. I will let you know next time if any of the 'cheats' work next time I'm on it, as well.

The Link version allows a 2nd mix machine to connect to an IIDX machine thus opening Club Versions. The only time that DDR was single player only was for DDR Solo Bass, Solo 2000 and 4th mix.

Everything that works in the original 2ndMIX also works in X3 vs 2ndMIX, but the STEP BATTLE songs are not available, and neither is STRICTLY BUSINESS. Normal Mode has TRIP MACHINE EVOLUTION as an unlockable final stage song if you full combo all previous songs, and doing the same in Hard Mode will give you PARANOiA Revolution. None of the LINK Version songs and features are available. You'll have to go to X3's Pro Mode for PARANOiA KCET ~clean mix~ and KEEP ON MOVIN', as well as GENOM SCREAMS and e-motion which are from the CLUB Version. They are all in the 2ndMIX folder. Do remember that X3 allows you to change arrow styles, and one of those styles is called CLASSIC and has the same look as 2ndMIX.

Incorrect. 2nd Mix Link version added memory card support for edit data. The versions that connect to IIDX were Club version 1 and 2.

I wonder how many 3rd MIXes we have in the US. I've only really seen one in my area but I know there are a few out in the midwest and on the east coast. I'd love to try some of this out for you myself but I'm going to be working all month and won't get any free time outside of my birthday. Otherwise I'd be playing some DDR A as well.

Thank you! I'm going to have to try full comboing stuff!
Do you know if there are any effects on the extra stage [reverse]?
Do you know if Maniac mode works, the edits work, or the All Songs mode work?

so did playing the club versions allow you to... play both IIDX and DDR at the same time? Or one person played while another danced?

There is no Extra Stage, those are just songs that become available in Final Stage when meeting those requirements. You are still free to pick any other songs or Roulette. Do keep in mind that those songs are incredibly hard, with PR being an 18 and TME being a 16 on the X-Scale. The hardest any of the other songs go on the X-Scale is 12. They have no modifiers and are 1x flat just like the rest. All Music does not work, as it was introduced in LINK Version. Maniac code is stepping Left x3, Right x3, Left, Right on the panels after highlighting Another difficulty.

From Remywiki:
Modifiers
TURN
MIRROR: During Select Music, input ←→←→←→←→ on the foot panels and then press Start.
RIGHT: During Select Music, input →→→→→→→→ on the foot panels and then press Start.
LEFT: During Select Music, input ←←←←←←←← on the foot panels and then press Start.
SHUFFLE: During Select Music, input ↑↓←→↓↑→← on the foot panels and then press Start.
APPEARANCE
HIDDEN: During Select Music, input ↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓on the foot panels and then press Start.
CUT
LITTLE: During Select Music, input ←↓→↓←↓→↓↑on the foot panels and then press Start.
Cancel All (オールキャンセル): During Select Music, input ↑↑↑↑on the foot panels and then press Start.
Those are for the modifiers, and the only ones at that time. Just take note that, unlike the original 2nd Mix, you can't tell from the song wheel if the codes you input were successful. You'll only find out once you're about to play the song. The codes also disappear after you clear a song so you'll have to input the codes again on your next song.

It's the latter. One on DDR and the other on IIDX. Would be interesting to both at the same time, the closest thing to it was Karaoke Revolution Party for the PS2/Xbox where you can dance and sing at the same time.
