I mentioned it in the XX server but I'm honestly surprised that I never actually contributed to this thread. Every time I've posted in here, it was to give someone shit for posting noise music or something. I think my downfall is that I enjoy way too much music I probably shouldn't enjoy. I'm a fan of the junk food music for the most part unless there's something absolutely terrible with it.

I also feel like any choice I choose would be problematic: I pick a popular song and it's low hanging fruit, and I pick an obscure song and I'm just picking on the artist.

However, I will spare no such judgement to Sorry Not Sorry by Demi Lovato. And I don't think I know a single other person that can defend that obnoxious shitshow of a song. It's like the hook was designed to be as irritating as possible, and yet it still managed to sell when it came around. Still manages to be put into radio rotation in retail and restaurants. It's beyond my comprehension, and if I try to comprehend it any longer... it'll just make me depressed.

When this song came out, almost everyone viewed this as cringe. Years later, it’s seen as quality comedy. Do I still find this cringe? I don’t know, I’m currently conflicted 😂

@jared Believe what you want but all six of these set off negative reactions in my brain to some extents (some less, some more than others) and just aren't good enough to justify me hearing them SO MANY TIMES a month.

I hadn't heard of this song so I went and gave it a listen...it's pretty bad but just in the boring kind of way for me. There were no parts that stood out about it, it had nothing going for it. Never heard it played around where I live, or maybe I did and forgot it existed.

This whole page is just going to be people who don't know what cringe is posting songs they don't like isn't it?

Well, it’s not that I don’t like the song. It’s just hearing it everywhere got old fast. Especially since the vocalist has that “indie voice” (welcome to my kitchen we got bananas and avocados…). Plus it seems so obviously payola’d into popularity. Though honestly some of these statements can definitely apply to other songs but it’s just the combination that makes me cringe.

Cringe is subjective. It's when not only do you not like the song, but you feel embarrassed for the people involved in it's creation. At least that's what I'd describe it as. I honestly don't know if I can think of examples of cringe-y songs off the top of my head. There's plenty of songs that piss me off, but not based on cringe factor.

Trying to put a single definition on what is a cringeworthy song and what is just a song you don't like? Kinda cringe, bro. L + ratio + you fell off + yb better, am I right?
