I'm honestly worried that family fun centers might toss out their dance pad games for this.

I think the bigger story is this:

Holy crap, a new Cruis'n game after almost 20 years?!
But in all seriousness, I don't see what you mean by "competition", since no one outside of Asia has DanceEvolution AC. (at least, that I know of, anyway). ^^;
Bet you someone's gonna get their hands on this cabinet, and try to swap the roms.

I heard there is some arcade in Nevada or something with DanEvo...
I'm honestly worried about Dance Central Arcade coming out because, like zeroroute said, it may cause the SERIOUS decline of games like DDR, ITG and PIU, and if we wanted an arcade "actually dancing" game, why shouldn't KONAMI just make an American version of DanEvo Arcade keeping the KONAMI original songs but just replacing the licensed Japanese songs with American songs?
What if KONAMI ends up doing so after this is released and people begin to think KONAMI copied Dance Central?!

I have one word to describe how I feel about this: WHY!?

I love Dance Central so this sounds cool. Too bad Harmonix abandoned Dance Central Spotlight on the Xbox One completely. The game is a complete mess and the promise of delivering songs still hot on the radio fizzled completely.

Off topic but the bolded is quite interesting. As some of us know, Raw Thrills has a bit of Ex-Midway staff, and I'm assuming their Fast and Furious license expired. However, Nintendo owns the Crus'n IP, which makes this a little odd.

It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I share my opinion with everyone else: The days of pad-based dance games at arcades are going to be challenged. Now it's only a matter of time before viners post videos of themselves online playing this at their local 'barcade' with the tags "LOL PLAYING DDR W/ MY HOOD #THUGLIFE".

Actually, the arcade version of Dance Central has been out for quite some time, but it's only been out in Asia. I remember seeing a similar video to the one I'm posting, on my facebook feed a couple years back.

Hate to say it, but that's a bootleg cabinet.

99% sure this is bootleg. There is no mention of Dance Central 3 AC on any Harmonix/Dance Central social media and official websites.

"Mostly just lurking." |
From the article:
"A Harmonix logo can be seen on the lower right hand side of the marquee, which would indicate that this is legit instead of being one of those odd imports from China."
Unless the bootleggers decided to put Harmonix's logo on the Dance Central Arcade cabinet's marquee...which I bet they did...
Anyway, if it's a bootleg I will be still worried but LESS worried than if it were official...

Although that's true, that was a scam upgrade kit. This however, is a fully fledged AC cabinet probably equipped with an XBOX 360 and a KINECT with a timer that adds gameplay time for each credit you insert.

Gamasutra had an article in the same Dance Central 3 AC title so maybe it's actually legit. Also sorry if I'm mentioning old news but if Raw Thrills got the Cruis'n license back I wonder what else they might get back.

This wouldn't be legal in the US, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have made it such a big deal if it wasn't legit. Also, Gamasutra had an article so...
I'm not predicting if this is a bootleg, but we can't say for sure now. All I know is that this happens in China a lot and that if this were a bootleg it would be shut down soon because of all its publicity so far. If this is a bootleg, HARMONIX would do something about it, even though that's not the case in China.
